Slime
In a glass or ceramic bowl, add 1/2 cup water and 1 cup white glue. Stir in 4 drops food coloring if desired.

In another bowl, dissolve 1/2 teaspoon borax in 1/2 cup water.
Slowly add the dissolved borax mixture to the glue mixture. Stir well.

When not in use, store in a tightly sealed jar.

Tips:

Borax can usually be found next to the laundry detergent in your grocery store.
Encourage your children to play with this outdoors as it's messy.

If we made this right tonight :o, it's sort of the consistency of silly putty.

Better than Play Doh
Food coloring
1 C Water
1 C Flour
1/2 C Salt
2 tps Cream of Tartar
2 T Cooking Oil

In a heavy saucepan, stir food coloring into water. Add all remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until mixture thickens and draws away from the sides of the pan.

Add food flavoring to make it smell good :)

Goo

Box of Corn Starch
Water

Use a big baking dish to mix water into corn starch until the consistency is "runny" but thick. Add food color to make it pretty. This is a good one for outside but it all cleans up with water :)

We tried to make some "slime" a few years back for a children's event we were having at our old church. We used a flour/water mixture and put in green food coloring. NEVER and I repeat, NEVER use this for a slime mixture to pour over the heads of children (real bright adults we were, huh?) unless you want to be pulling little bits of flour out of their hair for 2 days.
