The Children of Abraham were a stubborn and obstinent people - the rules and regulation laid down by God Himself were for them - for their particular place in the development of themselves as a people. In the limited geographical location that they were in - the surrounding "tribes" were involved in human sacrifice, temple prostitution, and "other obvious detestable things - There is no need in such cases to ask God if the people who practice such things receive instruction from the same Living God - but the instruction to the Children of Abraham is from the Living God - the instruction itself is proof that it is God Breathed - though the savagery of the surrounding tribes needs to be understood.
A few misguided souls take the instruction of God - concerning the surrounding people in the limited isolated geographical location as license to go into all the nations of the world and pillage and kill to their hearts content - but they pay the price, and as well bring God's wrath upon the nation of Israel itself.
There are many peoples that God instructs - and to think that the children of Abraham had the only direct line to God is a blasphemous theology.
