View Full Version : I am the customer service KING!!! - iTunes issue

I would like to share with you all the final message I just sent to the customer service agents at iTunes regarding my horrendous experience. I am the king of customer service! It never hurts to complain; you can usually get refunds and profuse apologies and extra compensation.

And to be fair, I have worked on the other side as well; when I worked at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage I was on the receiving end of customer service as well; I was great at what I did, and I got problems solved. I didn't just give lipservice. I solved problems and I got loans closed and I put people in homes. It was a good feeling.

So without further delay, I present my final message to iTunes.

-------------------------------------

THIS IS MY FINAL MESSAGE ON THIS MATTER

I have spent another entire day fighting with your
iTunes software. I have spent hours reading articles
and forums on the net about this -50 error. I even had
a friend doing similar research. Seeing that it has
been around for weeks, and Apple is denying the error,
blaming its customers, and doing nothing about it, I
have decided after giving this another long hard try
to end this endeavor. I purchased a Pepsi today and
won a free song, and also tried to get a free song
that my wife gave me and was met with nothing but
failure, grief, and frustration. Why should my music
shopping experience be like this? I am sorry I ever
tried iTunes. I should have known Apple products would
be as unreliable as the reputation Apple has. At least
Microsoft stands behind their stuff.

After receiving my song "Missionary Man" on my
friend's computer, I decided to be honest and turn
down your generous offer to give me a refund; I
figured I got the song so I should pay. Then, being
somewhat excited by that success, I decided to give it
another try and tried to download my free tracks
(Portland, Oregon by Loretta Lynn). I did not bother
selecting my second free track since I was met with
more failure. Boy what a mistake that was. You wasted
my day. You even wasted my friends time. Now you, the
reader, I am sure you're a nice person just doing your
job. I'm sorry you have to take the brunt of my angry
tirade. I highly recommend that you just pass this on
to people who can fix this issue (if Apple has the
capable intelligence within its work force).

Here is the bottom line. I have uninstalled iTunes for
the final time. Even though I wrote to you and said
you don't have to refund my money for Missionary Man,
I would like a refund for Missionary Man and the 7
cents of tax you charged me for Portland, Oregon. In
simpler language, I want every cent back that I gave
you. This was a very troublesome experience that I
hope I never have to repeat with any company ever
again. I am going to tell everyone I know about this,
and encourage them all to steer clear of iTunes. And I
won't be monitoring the boards to see if there was a
solution for that would be a further waste of my time;
I am not trying again. Thank you for ruining 3 of my
days and wasting my time and my friend's time.

Put the refund back on the card I gave you, and expect
to hear nothing further from me.

Thank you; have a good day.

Huh, I usually just say 'Where is your office located? [gets answer] Ah, well if you don't fix this, I'm coming to your office with a shotgun'.

I actually used that line when dealing with Comcast a couple months ago. The problem got fixed and I was credited 3 months full service. [that's over $300!]

I ordered a pizza from Dominoes on Saturday night. When they failed to get it to my place within an hour, I called to check on it. As a result, I got the pizza for half price.

I had to call earthlink about a couple things this week. I was nice though, because the guy on the phone was actually competant and polite and doing a good job.

And earlier I was going to demand a free month because of some early morning dialup issues that remain undetected and unresolved to this date.

Hey, I'm a tightwad & I eventually gave in and sprung for cable internet.

Don't worry man, break open the piggy bank & you'll be much happier. Some things are just worth paying a little extra for.

I tried DSL. It was so much trouble that I went back to dialup.

Yep, I think DSL runs through a phone line, but cable, as far as I know, is the quickest. You can download up to 5Mbps........it may be up to 6 now. Around here, we have Cox High Speed Internet & it truly rocks. :guitar:

You love U2; you could download their MP3's so fast it would make your head spin. :freak:

Hey, I just gave Cox some free pub, now where's my advertising dollars!

i know....my wife and i just don't need it that bad right now....maybe soon we'll try it. I am thinking of getting digital cable so I can get ht SCI FI channel and digital music on my stereo. i'm so fed up with radio and commercials i want to vomit.

Second Lieutenants don't exactly make tons of money.....but I'll get a sweet raise when I make First Lieutenant, and when I make Captain in 3.5 years, I'll be making double what I'm making now.
