Hi Humpback, and welcome to TOL!

If it's raining on the Western slope today, I guess we'll be getting it farther east tonight or tomorrow!

Greetings to you! I hope your time here is pleasant, calm, productive and meaningful. . . pardon me while I collapse with the sheer irony of that statement as applied to TOL.

No, this forum's like hunting a tiger. First you hate it, then you respect it, then you hate it again but are too committed to do anything about it. For a given value of 'hate', anyway.

Don't worry everyone, I like you really!

Have fun.

Because, much as I normally like this forum, there are occasionally times when it's very tempting to crush it in one swift stroke. (enlightenment as our father) I believe the Universe is swarming with spirits. Seen and unseen. I believe all humans are both good and bad...and that it is necessary for this to be true in order to create a balance within the world. I believe Jesus showed us how to save ourselves with his ever present help. Also that Christ took over Jesus's form in order to get the message through. I believe Jesus was a shaman. Before you said "I believe Jesus showed us how to save ourselves with his ever present help." The Bible is the main source we have for this teachings. What we know of him is found there, do you believe in at least that aspect?

Oh I have read quite a lot really. A whole lifetime of reading. I have read all of the Bible. All of the Nag Hammadi...which I found more to my liking. Quite a bit of Kabbalism. I probably have every book put out by them "purt near." I have a library full of spiritualistic books. I have The Other Bible. The Gnostic Bible. The Dead Sea Scrolls. Jesus, Last of the Egyptian Pharoahs. Books on Shamanism.
Don't you need to read everything you can get your hands on to be a Theologist? By the way.....I'm female. (Correction Stipe...(This female is a fruit loop.)) Ok now that we have cleared that up that is exactly the point. I find all religious books written strictly by the male gender highly suspect.

Let me see...what else did you ask? Oh Yeah! I do not believe in Jesus because of what is written in the Bible. I had to see him. He came to me in a vision when I was really down one day. Thank God.

Jesus came to you? Are you sure? I am not big on signs and wonders for these days, I think folks like Benny Hinn frauds. There are explanations for most all modern "wonders."

When I was 8 I saw an alien too...... only I was half asleep and watching a movie about aliens. Even as an adult I still have very vivid dreams that are just dreams and nothing more.

But anyway... You say you believe in Jesus. So that is a good start. Yet you reject the writings about him? What do you do, make up your own ideas about him too?

Howdy Dxpose, Naw...you don't have to be a flaming feminist to know that the Bible is gender biased. It's just common sense. Clouded and misinformed? How am I clouded and misinformed? Did I say I was clouded and misinformed? Is reading everything you can get your hands on pertaining to theology somehow making me clouded and misinformed? What do you think a theologist does anyway? Do you think a theologist only reads the Bible? Excuse me, :rain: but is this little thread raining **** on me? Oh dear me. Im a little muddy. Do you really want me to explain myself all in one post? I will go you one better.

On your question: Right and wrong and morality. Let's make this simple. There is a book out there called "Bushman Shaman" by Bradford Keeney. Go read that book than come back and ask me that question again. Time to exercise your eyes and get away from all fixating Bible. Relax...have a beer and read a good book.

Humpback
September 1st, 2007, 04:02 PM
Howdy Patman. That's the problem. People refuse to see signs and wonders and synchronicities not because they aren't there. They refuse to acknowlege them because of fear. Perhaps it makes the world less scary for them if they make fun of people who admit seeing them. Many many people see Jesus in visions. This is not new. Jesus is the son of God. What you are not seeing is "so are you." Why don't you go on a vision quest before you disregard visions. All of us are the sons and daughters of the Big Love. We are the unshakeable race of humanity. One has to be incredibly brave to dive into earth. Don't disregard your bravery. You knew how dangerous this word was before you came.

Hi Kmoney, isn't theology about books? Arn't you supposed to read books? What is wrong with you people. You make fun of people who relate to other books besides the Bible? How can you be a Theologist without reading and relating to books. Your just afraid to read something new. Why should I tell you what my thoughts are on evil and good when someone else has expressed it eloquently enough and a lot better then I could express it. I take it you don't believe that Jesus was a shaman either when every sign points to it.

You misunderstood my post. stipe said this:

"Looks like someone else has no argument to make so is referring to the authority of a book."

You need to watch your rebuttals, Humpback. You do not know me, nor do you understand why I doubt the majority of the tales of signs and wonders. How can you base your argument towards me when you do not even know me.

I, of all people, would jump at the chance for a sign or a wonder, for I face down a deadly disease that would claim my life had it not been for modern medicine. Do you really think bravery is an issue for me?

You would probably rather see me die searching out a miracle that would never come, rather than seek the aid of doctors, eh? Why? Because you think a sign would save my body, and you base that on some dream you had. It is easy to tell others to follow your signs when you are not the one who would face the consequences of at path.

You claim to know Jesus, but you do not even follow his words in the only book written about him. You reject it, passing it aside as a book written for political gain of ancient kings (Yet those very kings it mocks.).

Who are you to make up a religion?

(Er...uh.....isn't that what people do here? Or have I missed something?

I, of all people, would jump at the chance for a sign or a wonder, for I face down a deadly disease that would claim my life had it not been for modern medicine. Do you really think bravery is an issue for me?

(Er...uh....I think you missed the point entirely. Everyone who comes to earth is a very brave person. When did I say you were not brave????)

You would probably rather see me die searching out a miracle that would never come, rather than seek the aid of doctors, eh? Why? Because you think a sign would save my body, and you base that on some dream you had. It is easy to tell others to follow your signs when you are not the one who would face the consequences of at path.

(Signs are to uplift the spirit. Why would I want to see you die just because I think differently then you?? That is nonsense! Why would I not want you to seek adaquate medical care. Did I say a sign would cure you? Why are you placing non-existant sentences into this conversation? Follow MY signs?????? Wouldn't a person follow their OWN signs. Consequences of at path? What does that mean, it makes no sense. Did I say I had a dream? When did I say I had a dream? I had a vision...which by the way, makes me no expert. When did I say I know Jesus? I said I know he exist's because I saw him in a vision. A vision is not a dream.)

You claim to know Jesus, but you do not even follow his words in the only book written about him. You reject it, passing it aside as a book written for political gain of ancient kings (Yet those very kings it mocks.).

(political gain of ancient kings? Where are those words in any of my posts? Why are you making things up as you go along. I said I find the Bible highly suspect because no woman took part in the making of it. It is flamingly biased.)

(You are mis-informed. That is not the only book written about Jesus.)

Who are you to make up a religion?

(Now for once we get to the heart of what is bothering you. I am making up my own religion because in all of the world their is no religion for women. I do not like those male religions out there. They suck with violence. They suck with hatred of women. This brings us to another problem. They do not dance. Jesus dances. To worship, I would rather go into the woods and dance with him. I would rather notice the hummingbird that zooms right up to me and looks me in the eyes. I do this alone. So don't worry your little head about a cult?????)

Will you be the next great cult we hear about on TV?

(I cannot talk. Physically. You are not the only one who has ever almost died. If it wasn't for good medical care I would also not be here. That at least is something we have in common. So...see...don't worry, you have to at least be able to talk to be on tv.)

Wow it is easy to push your buttons. :chuckle: You react like someone who has guilt.

You asked, "isn't that what people do here? Or have I missed something?" So I ask is this an excuse? You are making up your religion. Others on TOL do that too, and I call them on it just like I did you. So, what is your point? Because other people on TOL make up religions i should let you do it???

You were try ing to be clever in your response, but wow. You blew it in the first paragraph!! Maybe if you focused on the actual points I was making you could have avoided looking so ignorant.

You asked, "When did I say you were not brave????"

When you said people like me refuse to believe in signs because of fear:

"They refuse to acknowlege them because of fear."

I don't feel like I deserve some reward. In the year I have experienced these medical issues I have spoke about them 3 times. I only mentioned it to you because I wanted to show you how you don't even know what you are talking about. Your ideas apply to no one.

You again made a fool of yourself when you said "Now for once we get to the heart of what is bothering you. I am making up my own religion because in all of the world their is no religion for women."

First of all I have said this all along, and this point has been made very clear.. uhh errr maybe you should put to use your comprehension skills. uuhhhh, ya think?

Any religion made by a flawed human will fail. You will be responsible for the people you mislead. They will be on your head when they join you in Hell. I have said before, to you, that the Bible is the main source for Jesus' words, and the entire life is Jesus is foretold through out the bible.

You are misunderstanding the Bible's take towards woman. The ladies on TOL who understand it can help you with this. You are unwise to go against a book that is about the Jesus you say you believe in.

You need to drink a beer and calm down.

:noway:

Wow, where to start.:chuckle:

Your crystal ball is broken, Humpback. I thought I showed that to you a few posts back.

Did you forget we are having a conversation that is evolving based on what we learn from each other? Is your memory short? Honestly, based on what I am seeing from you so far, your religion must be full of holes because you are full of holes.

Keep up with the dialog please. You can always use the prior posts to refresh your memory so you can see what we are talking about, and why I am answering you like I am.

For example, your prior post you smarted off pretty bad. You expect me not to smart off back to you? Then you try to tell me to calm down... pleeeeease? Com'on.

You say I am pushing a religion down your throat, yet I have yet to quote you one Bible verse. Remember? I am just trying to show you the wisdom in not making up your own religion.

The girls on TOL can help you understand the Bible's position towards women and men. I really just want you to stop making up a religion and consider their views about the Bible.

I already know you will not listen to me because I am a man;)

Just a side note, as someone "welcoming" you to TOL I feel compelled to remind you that you should realize that people are going to pick your views apart. Why are you here if you don't want someone to tell you what they think?

Hi Minerva,
Alabama huh? It sounds as if you have a full plate. Wow. Plus being a mother. On what you asked. Many people have seen the other side. Usually they go through a very sorrowful place first. They end up giving up on the world. They generally realize they are being who everyone else wants them to be and not who they truly are. Some finally realize that to see whats really out there in this world something has to change. They know they have gotten to that place called the dark night of the soul. They realize something is calling them. They will generally step out of their lives for a small while and go to the wilderness to be alone. To see what they can see. It only takes a quiet time, to see the other side.

Hi Minerva,
I read your profile silly. It told me you had a lot going on. On making up your own religion. You sort of have to, as it is, especially for women. Since men have so completely disected us out of all of their religions (idiots). They have also tossed out soul, and nature, and mother earth. All of these are feminine aspects. They have been trying to kill us for a long time now. This is why we must hide what we do and what we discover about soul from men. We are spiritual. Men are religious. There is a difference. Yet if a man who goes into the wilderness in order to discover his soul and who he is, and is searching for that lost half of his life. He is reaching for his feminine. Therefore he is discovering his spiritual root. There is nothing wrong with a man trying to find his soul. But for the female, if you are going to make up your own religion as you progress. Tell no man. Also never let them see you communicating with Jesus, your ancestors, and the other helpers of which there are many, including animal spirits. For if your preacher or husband find out what you are doing, they will do their best to kill your spirituality. So first of all secrecy is the most valued of attributes. Lets have another beer. Wah!

That said - I have to say nothing makes me smile more than listening to/reading the words of a bunch of people who all believe in the supernatural and the powers of the gods or spirits and all the myths of the particular faith and stuff like that yet each one has the nerve to call the other one's beliefs "weird". Howdy Minerva, Its good you don't take crap. I like that. Actually, I take a lot from the books I read and compare the similarities not the differences. The whole point is to AT LEAST READ. By the way...the KURDS are directly descended from Noah so they say. At least read up on them if your not going to read up on anything else. "Paranoid inferiority complex and issues with men." Your doggone right I do when they start spouting off their gender related religions into my face thank you very much. Im a warrior. I'll kick their forked tails between their legs.
"I need Jesus?" I saw him. I surprised him and made him jump up off his throne and look my way. I was hiding behind a bush. I was surprised too. He flew swiftly toward me. Their was a thin veil between us. I smiled at him. He had white hair down to his shoulders and was clean shaven. His mouth formed into a perfect "O" and he blew the wind of grace into my bedroom. I have never felt so loved. Or so peaceful. Kind of strange isn't it. Me being a non "stagnant religion going" sinner and all of that. Christianity is stuck.....in the same mode for 2000 years...and guess what? It's starting to stink up the place. A bit like a pool full of dead animals. :dead: Like they say, if you are not with him then you are against him. Well....I think that vision qualifies me as being with him. I am trying to educate myself spiritually. Nix on religion.:vomit:

Mother earth? Who said anything about that? You want her to juggle me around before you even know what I think about the subject matter? You are mean, and full of hate.

Full of hate. That was just cruel.

It is weird to make up your own religion. Crazy people do it, crazy, like you.

Here, let me show you what weird means

weird |wi(?)rd|
adjective
suggesting something supernatural; uncanny : the weird crying of a seal.
• informal very strange; bizarre : a weird coincidence | all sorts of weird and wonderful characters.
• archaic connected with fate.
noun
archaic chiefly Scottish a person's destiny.

Out of how many people out there make up their own religion?

Ohh, hang on, you need to know what a religion is too....

religion |ri?lij?n|
noun
the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods : ideas about the relationship between science and religion.
• details of belief as taught or discussed : when the school first opened they taught only religion, Italian, and mathematics.
• a particular system of faith and worship : the world's great religions.
• a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance : consumerism is the new religion.

So you are making up your own religion because you think other religions "hate" women, and it is weird to do that.

Huh.

Telling you that you are going to hell is no ego trip. Hell is a place for people who reject God. Sure, punishment is there, but that punishment will fit the crime. Hell is really a place where people get what they want, to get away from God.

So if you hate God and his ways, you will feel at home in hell. But on the other hand, if you would like the blessings of heaven and of being with God, be saved.

Listen, Humpback, really. You are on TOL. There are so many different views on here, you can never tell what the person on the other end believes. He doesn't just want you to DIE for not thinking (just exactly like him.) He also wants to PUNISH you for not thinking (just exactly like him.) And not only does he want to punish you for that. He wants to punish you in the MOST HORRIBLE WAY POSSIBLE for not thinking (just exactly like him.) And not only does he want to punish you in the most horrible way possible but he also wants to punish you FOREVER AND FOREVER AND FOREVER. Such is the justice of men. Such is the story of HELL. When anybody asks me what is the definition of HELL, I tell them "Man's Ego. You may well be in shock as you correct me: "No it's not!! It's a place of damnation for sinners." So then I'll say, "Wow.....COOL.....Can I go first???" "

Soo I said: "Hell is a place for people who reject God. Sure, punishment is there, but that punishment will fit the crime. Hell is really a place where people get what they want, to get away from God."

I also requested you: "asked me first what I thought about hell before you made that big long paragraph about it," because, "You are on TOL. There are so many different views on here..."

Now... -sigh-you say: "What is so wrong about stating your views on hell NOW! Since you brought it up. Since evidently I am going there."

You brought up hell, you said you were going there, and you still cant follow a conversation.

If you believe in God and Jesus and have asked him to forgive your sins and save you through his sacrifice, you are saved. No matter how goofed you theology is, God can still save you. But your eternal life can be much richer if you have a good theology, if you live a good life, and if you do the right things.

Again, it was YOU who put words in MY mouth. Discussion with you isn't really discussion. It is more like this:

I throw an idea out there and you tell me everything I think on the issue...... only it isn't even close to what I think. It is a one sided conversation. I am watching you fight me against what you think I said.

I could have told you more about my views if I thought you were interested. I don't think you are, so I am just warning you about the foolishness of making up your own religion.

Jesus says to forgive. Do you think he would have said that if God did not forgive. Don't pretend to be concerned about my eternal life you spooky hypocrite. I know a lie when I hear one.

An who wants to argue about who said what or who started what anyway. All I know is you jumped on board a long time ago with sword in hand calling me nuts.

Also where is your comment on MY views about Hell????? It seems very odd to me that you haven't said one word about my senario, and what gave rise to it. No thought's there?? Religious robots are a dime a dozen kid. :chuckle:

That little string of words is supposedly your view on hell. "DOWN" is your view on hell????? Down is not Hell for you. Just exactly what is DOWN then. Er...ah...Down the stairs??? Down the football field??? Down to Mexico???
Why would I not realize that you were talking about Hell. I can follow a conversation just fine. It's you who insinuate something then just because you didn't say that exact word pretend you were not talking about it. Does it look like I have STUPID written on my forhead???

Exactly what is so foolish about making up my own religion. I think you are the cow stuck in the paddock friend.

I am concerned about you. You must have little concern for others if you can't see that.

Like I said, one's theology is not what saves them. I would like you to consider my ideas about God, but, again, you reject them before you even know about them.

Seriously, this post just proves the point I made in my last post. You aren't following the conversation, you are creating ideas I don't even have. You don't even realize it.

If you want to keep your sins, God will allow that. But don't expect to go to heaven with them. God can forgive them if you want that, but you need your humanity more than God i guess....

Yes. They did didn't they.

The way you can tell about that the Bible wasn't the creation of a religion by one but rather the compilation of writings throughout the ages is the minute contradictions, not enough to shatter Christianity as falible, but still something that a single author would have avoided.

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

This has to be a spiritual fire because our God is a consuming fire.
The physical fire can not burn the spirit.
God is a consuming fire and the fire burns until it consumes our spirit, no more sin left is my understanding.
The physical fire cannot burn a spiritual body, fire produces light.
So once again this must be a spiritual fire of judgement.
The spiritual fire is going on right now for some of us.
It can be painful but it is part of the journey.

Plus the word of God is a light ... lack of light/word of God is darkness
PS 119:105 NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
MT 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Lack of God's word/light in our life is a cause for grief
MT 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Let's recap on the many names you have called me.

"Oh my God is that you again you little far"

"Cause then I can understand why your so full of it. :loser:"

"Patman, you little monkey fart go to bed."

"Hello again Bean Brain,"

"You started it you kookoo!"

"Whats a matter you big flippin chicken head!!!"

"Except by you doo doo brain."

"I will go anywhere I want to with all my sins you stick up the patootie. "

"Patman and Stipe.....you guys should write fairy tales."

That's it so far. Can't wait to see the next uncalled for name you call me.

So, wow. And you say I am attacking you? Do you confuse an attack with a friendly rebuke? I rebuked you over making up your own religion and for selling your snake oil signs and wonders. I told you how to shed your sins. Yet all those responses because you asked. You were not being attacked by me(yet).

So far I haven't needed to attack you. You do a good job of that for me. You attack yourself! You show your flaws to us all, your inability to carry on conversations on point, your inability to relate to those around you, and your erratic behavior. What more beautiful of a job could I have done attacking you that you haven't already done to yourself?

Then, after you show how incapable you are, you still say you are qualified to create a religion for yourself that will stand against God's perfect judgement??? huh.:dunce:

When I learned you made up your own religion, I offered very honest questions I hoped you would answer. After all, if you believe Jesus was real, why not believe the books written about him in the Bible? You could have answered that.

Instead you just insist male writing leads to evil somehow(watch out ladies, I am a (pat)man after all). Male writting? Really? That's your "solid" reason to doubt something... I guess it is a good answer... that is, if you are paranoid and delusional.

But anyway.... you said I was attacking you? Yeah, I attacked you, right. You would feel attacked for no reason. It is just your way, to make up whatever you want to be true.

Complaints towards you! I believe Im complaining about the whole of the antiquated system. Don't take things so personal little one. I promise to go easy on you if you want to lay out your visions of theology. There...hows that?:D

I'm not gonna tell you my theology. Really, its just because you can't carry on a conversation. It is usually fun to discuss these issues with others.... that is, when others are capable of conversing.

How do you mean? Do you think you hurt my feelings? Do you think I really take anything you say serious enough to be offended? What reason have you given me to respect you? Why should I be personally affected? What effect do you have on me, really?
