View Full Version : TOL Accomplishments

I've been on TOL since November 2002. Over the course of those 5+ years, I've seen a lot of things on TOL. I've seen a lot of change, both good and bad. I've seen a lot of people come and go. There have been good times and bad times.

I wanted to take a moment and reflect on the good times. What are some great accomplishments that TOL took part in? When you think of TOL memories, what comes to your mind?

I can think of several, but I don't want to kill the thread with one post, so I'll just post one of my favorite TOL accomplishments.
OK. I am going to say this out loud, as I type it, so you can all see this.

Lord, I come to you a sinner. I ask you now for forgiveness. Please forgive me Jesus. I realise that you love me so much that you died on a Cross to save me from my sins. I repent of everything I have done, and, with your help, I promise to change my life - forever. I accept you into my heart right now as my Saviour.

Amen.

I think you did kill the thread with one post. Who can top that? :chuckle:
Liberals like to preach that anything is justified if it saves even one life. I'd say TOL is therefore justified by this alone. I tend to respect just about anything that God works through to call someone to salvation.
Praise God!
TOL rocks!
We love yah, LMOHM!

Here is one that is almost 10 years old.....

Is the conscience not an innately intolerate and wonderful thing? My confession first was submitted to Ken, and now I feel compelled to offer it to you fine folks. I spent significant time (though brief) talking to my girlfriend's brother who is a Baptist Minister and was decidedly convicted to explore The Way. Many sweaty nights followed, many books devoured,& many tears shed until I was broken and humbled. For the most beautiful reason in the word-Jesus-I have committed myself to an active walk with God. My diet is yet (if even) milk, but I pray to grow from a child of God into a man of God. I ask forgiveness of those who I may have lead astray-as I do feel quite guilty about it. To anyone interested in God, may I suggest that you get off your hands and find out. A great multitude of informative books are available and waiting to be read by a person with the thirst for knowledge and Truth. "Scaling the Secular City" by J.P. Moreland is an excellent apologetics book. For those who doubt the historicity of the Bible, but shy away from the philosophical mumbo-jumbo, read "Jesus Under Fire," ed. by Moreland and ? For a look at Jesus as a person, read "The Jesus I never Knew" by Yancy Phillips. I read a few more (Mere Christianity, CS Lewis, is a good one, too), but enough already. Anyway, I wanted to publicly confess my path with Jesus Christ and I hope the webmaster (webmistress?) will understand why I posted about my "private life."

The TOL goat was cool, but two salvations (not to mention those that those two will lead to The Lord before they go to their reward) is worth more than all the money ever printed. Thank God for TOL, and especially for salvation through Jesus Christ!!! Keep on keepin' on, TOL!!! :thumb:

I'm not sure how big a part TOL played in this (maybe none) but don't forget last years #3 post of the year (http://www.theologyonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37129).

I thought for sure there was really no hope for somebody who did such horrible things as I. Oh of course, I went to church as a kid, was babtized in the church, and even was homeschooled in a Christian school, but I still sinned anyway and pretended I loved Jesus, and when it was time for me to go on my own, I simply walked away from it all and continued to do what I wanted to do. Then I discovered that Jesus is not some etherial thought or some kind of thing to browbeat people over to obey. I find out He is a real person. How about that?

Now that have asked Jesus to come in my life and repent for the bad deeds I did, there lies a long road ahead. Not just in my own life, but those around me as well. My family is not Christian, my friends are not Christian, and basically it seems to me it may be difficult to follow that narrow path when there are those very close and I love very much who will try to dissuade or even reject me because of this. Now how does one live the new life Jesus gave me and so many others follow Jesus in an un-Christian ciricle of family and friends?

Thank you for your time.

So for the last few months have been studying who Christ was, what He did and really got me thinking. I did not just appear out of nowhere. The Earth just did not randomly happen. So I re-thought about creation, history, and God's overall plan. Somehow it just made sense. It seemed that has some meaning to it.

Hope that makes some sense. Thank God for His great salvation!!!
