An impeachment is just piling on. Bush is the worst president we've had, and most Americans know it. He's ruined his reputation, and that of his family.

What more do you want to do to him? Put him in prison? What good will that do? He's disgraced and he's ruined his party. He'll have to live with that the rest of his life.
Clinton was impeached. What good did it do? He was acquitted of all charges by Congress, and now is considered by the public to be one of the better presidents.
An impeachment is not exactly a trial and Clinton was not exactly acquitted.

No. the person concerned would no longer be president. Since the only penalty upon conviction is removal from office, it would be a pointless exercise..

An impeachment is not exactly a trial
It is so defined by law.
and Clinton was not exactly acquitted.
In fact, he was.
Congress traditionally regards impeachment as a power to use only in extreme cases; the House of Representatives has initiated impeachment proceedings only 62 times since 1789. Two cases did not come to trial because the individuals had left office.
Actual impeachments of only the following 17 federal officers have taken place. Of these, 13 were federal judges: Ten district court, two court of appeals (one of whom also sat on the Commerce Court), and one Supreme Court Associate Justice (Samuel Chase). Of the other four, two were Presidents (Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, both acquitted),

Pelosi wants an investigation into why he only changed 8 prosecutors, instead of all 93, like his predecessor did.

Pelosi has used the impeachment, war crimes, prosecutors themes to add distraction to the mess she has created as Speaker of the House. Keeps the nutjobs busy.

Too bad we have presidential term limits. We could elect Bush for another term and give Screep another shot at it. :chuckle:

And apparently he's content that the polls are against Bush, despite that fact that he was an evil genius moron who perpetrated an "illegal, immoral and unjustifed" war.

Didn't you know, Skeptic?
If it gets the country that much-needed OIL, anything is acceptable! :greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy:
Bush and Co. had to lie: Americans, as a people, have no stomach for conquest and empire-building, and the neo-cons have every intention of founding a global American Imperium.
They have our best interests at heart. Really they do.

I fully expect Something Really Bad to happen, something to dwarf even 9/11, which will give the Administration cause to declare a national emergency and suspend the Constitution.
For no longer than the duration of the emergency, of course...

AND, he continues to influence government policy ("inherited from the previous administration").
We now have the: :shocked::shocked::shocked:

Bush was a great President. He kept America safe. I wish he could have run for a third term. Sure beats what we have now. I sincerely believe that Obama will not be able to keep us safe. He is too busy making pals with communists and the like. Time will show his inexperience. He never even ran a Dairy Queen let alone was ever Mayor of a town like Wasilia, Alaska! I don't believe he is even an American citizen. I think this thread is talking about the wrong guy!
