An Excerpt and commentary -

Quote:

AN ADDRESS TO THE WORLD

Fear not, for Error is mortal and can not live, and Truth is immortal and can not die! Duty demands serious analysis and investigation of all conspicuous subjects. Truth may be found in the following Revelation (said book): if so, Nature must be the standard by which all men may judge whether the truths therein contained are pure, practical, and elevating. No arbitrary or external standard shall be recognized as suitable to test the truth of what is herein presented, or the character of the truths which may be herein contained. The verdict of Nature, and not of men, is required. Inasmuch as all terrestrial creations are the spontaneous productions of the Divine mind, no truth is lessened by disbelief—no error is made true because the learned receive it as such. Nothing can be changed that is unchangeable, by man or his actions. Then press onward! Exercise your choicest gift, which is Reason—and fear no corruption from truth, though new ; and expect no good from error, though long believed.

- from Preface of The principles of Nature, her divine revelations, and a voice to mankind - by Andrew Jackson Davis

Recently plunging into some of the classic works of AJD, a forerunner and pioneer of prophetic vision and wisdom, heralding the way for the advent of Spiritualism, preparing the ground for new seeds of consciousness.

Here the verdict of Nature holds, for within her are the essential principles of existence in the phenomenal world, the entire process of creative evolution, progress and science.

Reason still has its place within the conductivity of Nature.
