Mocking other religions.

So. Two Mormon kids were sitting out snack time because they had received instruction (or the teachers had) that they were not to drink tea. And today's snack involved pearl milk tea. I asked them why they weren't drinking tea and asked if they were Mormon and was that the reason?

They said, "Yes".

I was rather taken aback because instead of the tea they had been given coke to drink and were sucking that back faster than you could say, "Magic underwear". True story.

When I tried to tell them that coke was just as off limits to a Mormon as tea was they got rather offended and quite upset. Well, Claire did .. Justin was too busy drinking to care.

Then the boss wandered past and when I burst out laughing while explaining the situation to her she said all conspiratorially that, "They are Mormons, shhhh!"

I said, "Yeah, I know."

That shut her up.

I have no idea why those two kids no longer attend classes here.....

Maybe you changed their lives...maybe they went home and took an inventory of the sacrifice they would have to make to maintain their Mormon vigil (the end of chocolate, Coke, etc.) and found it wanting...or found themselves wanting a Hershey Bar...

Or maybe they just got tired of the looks flashed at them for saying Moroni with a straight face.
