Guys, forgive me my poor knowledge, but the only news channels I have here are liberal ones. My question is: Huckabee - is he a liberal posed to be a conservative or is he a real conservative. For all the mass media here everybody who is not a communist is a conservative thus the only normal people, TOL members, can tell me the truth.

Huckabee raised taxes many times as the Governor of Arkansas. There is nothing Conservative about that.

He also has been making false claims about having a theology degree.

Have you ever stopped to think you might just be an extremist? I doubt there is are more than a handful of people in Britain you'd consider socially conservative.

As Ktoyou has been trying to say, there is no liberal/conservative dichotomy, or even a simple continuum from one to the other. (Or it might be more appropriate to say that "liberal" and "conservative" are very big tents, and from one side of one it is impossible to see to the other side of the same.)

For my own opinion I'm rather inclined to believe with Adamhart.

all in all: nobody has said Huckabee is a conservative what mean he is not. At best he is something between a liberal and a conservative. A kind of refurbished George W. Bush.
