Irvin Rosenfeld is the longest surviving federal medical marijuana patient in the United States. He is also a stockbroker (all of his superiors, co-workers and clients are aware of this). He smokes 10-12 joints a day without any adverse affects. He is provided with eleven ounces a month by our federal government and, according to this video, the American government refuses to do a study on his health. They don’t want to take a look at the other four federal medical marijuana patients either. This man has been smoking that much marijuana for 25 years, and they don’t want to take a look at him? That only proves they are afraid of what they’ll find and that the drug war is a total farce. This is definitely one one of the most convincing testimonies I’ve ever witnessed and worth watching all the way through. “I don’t know about you, but I sure would sleep better at night knowing…” Mockery at its best, I assure you.

I think the problems associated with cannabis use are not quite as difficult for society to cope with as the problems associated with alcohol. People who can't handle their alcohol and use it as an excuse to be destructive and antisocial end up in court just like any other drug user, except that with other drugs, people who do no harm to anyone can still end up being a criminal. It makes no sense. Prosecute the real crimes and stop clogging the system with people who aren't a threat, I say.
I do wish they'd do that study, however. The real danger is in not knowing. If there really are huge long-term health problems from cannabis use then people need to know. I'm sure smoking it has the same problems as smoking tobacco, but that's not the only way to consume the drug and people are still given the choice to smoke tobacco along with information on the risk they are taking. Many people completely ignore alarmist warnings about drugs, particularly drug campaigns showing exaggerated scenarios, because it is nothing like the experience of illicit drugs that they see 99% of the time. Some hard and fast data is what's needed for any claims to have credibility.

I'm not sure. All that I've heard is that the "pharma" brand of marijuana loses many of the benefits that the straight from the ground anyone can grow kind. The "pharma" brand is also uber expensive. Also like it's already been said it takes longer for the effects to eek out into the bloodstream through the stomach then just straight smoking. Or umm so I've heard.

A study on a group of 5 people? Who presumably have various medical issues?
What would it be trying to prove? You can't use a sample group of five to prove or disprove any point in a more general sense so why would the government bother putting the money into the study?

There are many more that could be involved in a study. The point is the government won't allow it. I've posted a link to this before, it's interesting reading. The Emperor Has No Clothes
