Saw this YouTube clip. Do you think it is intentional or people with over active imaginations who are hearing what they want to hear?

I wonder if there's any truth to the rumor that the doll was released for sale just nine months after the release of the movie, "Bride of Chucky."

Are you saying that you do not believe that the doll says "Islam is the Light?"

In regards to if that doll is the only one. If you mean that "brand" of doll then from what I have been able to see...yes.

If you mean that the particular doll that the pastor was holding...then no. Apparently ALL of the dolls of that make (whatever the name of the doll is) say the same thing.

The question in the opening post asked:

Do you think the doll really says it or is this people hearing what they want to hear.

Of course snopes is going to say that it isn't true because that's the "official" stance taken from the manufacturer.

Prior to me knowing what I was supposed to be hearing, I wonder if I would have gotten "Islam is the Light" out of it.

I'm not saying that the doll says it...but that's what I hear NOW that I know what it is that I am supposed to be hearing.

The doll in the first youtube video sounded like it was enhanced if not edited. The actual recording from Mattel is not quite as clear, I thought it was saying "I wanna pick a fight" or "I wanna take a flight."

I do think it's people overreacting to what they thought they heard. And people hearing what they have already been told the doll says.

It does sort of sound like "Islam is the light" but I might just be hearing that because that's what I'm expecting to hear (like you said CM).

Why in the world would Fisher Price put that message in?

And like that pastor said, if the company did put that message in, they didn't do a very good job at being subtle. If they were trying to get a secret message through I think they'd would have done a better job at hiding it.

Even knowing what it's supposedly saying, it's not clear enough to me to believe it. I can hear 'da light' clearly, but the part their claiming as 'Islam' doesn't sound like that to me at all.

As to the 'satan' one, I'll have to wait until I get home because I can't get it on this computer.

I haven't listened to the Satan one...but supposedly it says "Satan is King" or something along those lines.

For the record, the preacher in the first video makes me want to jam a blunt pencil in my ear.

Apparently he ought to be thanking God that all the other problems within the body have been solved and we can now focus on make believe evil conspiracies to brainwash our babies into being Islamists through repetitive phrasing.

What a waste of a pulpit and a captive audience.

I did like his idea of making a doll that babbles and then says "Jesus is the only way to Heaven". I thought that was kind of funny.
