I hate to break it to the peeps, but your chances of being killed or wounded in a terrorist incident are so close to zero that they might as well be zero. Worry far more about slipping in the tub.

Before guns, people were hacking at each other with swords, axes, and maces or shooting each other with slings, bows, and crossbows or impaling each other with lances and spears. Yeah, it's pretty easy to imagine how much better off we'd be without guns.

Great point. It's much easier to deal with lesser weapons. Guns amplify the bad guys ability to commit his crimes.

So does a nuclear warhead magnify greater than that. Depending of course who you think the bad guy is on this scale. Just sayin.

Inanimate objects are not moral agents....they are neither good nor bad.

You might just as well ask if a rock is a good or bad thing.

Destroy another fetus now, we don't like children anyhow, I've seen the future baby......... It is Murder.
~Leonard Cohen

To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic.

Tell that to every nation that found itself ruled by the sword under the Egyptian, Persian, Greek, and Roman empires.

I didn't say that lesser weapons are harmless. I said that they are easier to deal with and make murder and other crimes harder to commit.

Gun are less messy than a sword... but maybe not as cool looking.

I see nothing wrong with defending your home and family, hunting, etc... why should only criminals be carrying firearms?
