For many reasons, but one is often overlooked.
He left heaven and took on flesh and blood, after the likeness of Adam. To get back to where he came, heaven, he had to shed his blood. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
1. Land forever. Gen 17:8 (KJV)
2. City FROM heaven. Rev 21:2 (KJV)
3. Heavenly places. Eph 2:6-7(KJV)
Don't mix them, leavening the whole household of God. Luke 13:21 (KJV)

. . . let me get this straight .
. . . god (Jesus) left heaven (the kingdom of god) to become a man .
. . . but couldn't get back into his own home unless he "died" first .
. . . how do you "inherit" what you already own .
. . . and you guys wonder why we don't believe in your religious nonsense .

Why does a guy who doesn't believe in our "nonsense" spend all his time talking about it?
I don't hang out at tooth fairy or Easter bunny websites. So, why are you here?
