The Spirit of God and the Law - January 28th, 2012, 12:16 PM

It is not good to break the law.

The law is good, showing us our sin/error.

The Spirit of God leads us to do what is right.

Unbelievers don't have the Spirit of God, though God has given them their breath.

What the law could not do (save us) God did by sending His Son.

Should a believer obey the Law?

Should a believer be led by the Holy Spirit?

I don't believe the Holy Spirit would lead someone to break the law.

Consider, for example that we should not murder. If a person has the Spirit of God in them (is a believer, born again, born of God), that does not mean murder is now okay.

Thoughts?

Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Some believe the Spirit of God leads us to transgress the Law. I don't understand this.

Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Jesus set the example. If the law (Ten Commandments) is in our hearts then they can be kept. It is my belief that we should keep them. But it is the grace of Christ who can read our minds, that brings salvation. A person, led by the Holy Spirit would never break the laws of the creator.
Its a law of love, love God and love for mankind.
As John say it is not a burden to keep his law.
Peace

Psalm 1[/color] and Job 28:28

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Joh 4:23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

I love the God of my Lord Jesus Christ

You speak of the Ten Commandments and John speaks of the commandments.

This is interesting. I don't know if they are the same or not.

Problem: We break Shema continually. And the hard sayings of Jesus often. Shema says anything less than 100% is sin.

Guess what? This is what John was speaking of in the church. To take your sins of repentance to the same altar as you did with the sin -- before the Lamb and before (in front of) YHWH.

So if we sin and we have the Holy Spirit we either blame God or justify it by saying God led us to sin.

Is it really true that a person in this situation has the Holy Spirit?

Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

I don't know how it relates, and there are many threads about free will that I have been communicating on recently.

You are the one saying it relates, not me. I can't expound on what you believe if I don't know what you believe.

This word "unbeliever" is a vague word used out of context so often today.

Our children might not have come to have faith in Christ yet not be unbelievers the same as Christ rejectors are.

We ought teach our children Gods law, which by their having regard to will keep them from serious trouble when understood with guidance from believing parents.

If it is in their hearts to please God as it is in their hearts to be pleasing to their parents, then they will come to receive Gods Spirit in proper course. It should be a smooth transition.

The legalist (and often the reformed legalist) who thinks/thought to please God by keeping the law by outward actions but has no love in their heart, is the first to condemn others who keep it by the Spirit of God in their heart.

The Bible says that no murderer has eternal life dwelling in him.

I still thought of it a few times but was quickly led away from it by the sudden consciousness of fiery flames close by.

An unbeliever is someone who is not a believer (has not been born again by God). Unbelievers are not saved, while true believers are.

Yes,
however there are believers who are not born again.

and there are non- believers who have not rejected the truth because they are still coming to it.

The unbelievers who reject the truth when they see and hear it and continue to do so, are another matter.

The sons of satan are a hardened against the truth kind of people.
