Have I been healed?....I think so - March 15th, 2012, 06:24 AM

I have been ill.

Just after Christmas a year ago I started to cough blood, the cat showed several small tumours on my lung. The doctors were pleased that the blood, just a few specks then, were bright red [funny things doctors] if they had been darker or rust colour they would have feared cancer. I lost weight rapidly.

At this stage because they did not know the cause or nature of the growths "we've never seen tumours like this before" they decided to monitor.

The specks of blood became blobs, the growths grew, I became more apparently "unwell" other symptoms appeared.

Now I have always believed in divine healing from the very day I was saved, christians are as blind as bats if they cannot see that OT or NT forgiveness is hand in hand with healing, the double cure.

"Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all His benefits, who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thine diseases.." hand in hand in the OT

"Son be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee.......arise take up thy bed and walk"....hand in hand in the NT.

When Paul established assemblies they were set in the communities as the "body of Christ" with functions among the members including prophecy and healing and miracles....healing is for all time hand in hand with forgiveness...full salvation.

So I did not need to buy the latest miracle video or the latest blockbuster book nor did I need to write off to the white suited evangelist. I did not even pull out all the concordances and check the references to healing....I believed.
I continued to read the bible according to my normal habit.

I was reading 1 Corinthians and in chapter 7 I read "But this I say brethren the time is short, it remaineth that both those who have wives be as though they have none and those who weep as though they wept not" and the words leapt out of the page at me, you are saved you know how that happens when God has something to tell you.

But what on earth had that to do with me? where is there any healing promise there?

If I had read "I am the Lord who healeth thee" and that spoke to my heart I might have suspected that it was my mind. But I KNEW God had spoken to my need. "let those who have wives be as though they had none....let her who has sickness be as though she ailed not"
So that was our plan of action we were to carry on as though there was nothing wrong.

Now the doctors wanted to hospitalize Tots, had it been for a full blown op I would have submitted to medical advice [we are not to be foolish] my first port had been the Lord, there was no need to get tangled up with "demonstrations" of faith. But this was not for an op for they did not yet know what they were dealing with, this was for all kinds of nasty proceedures involving puncturing the lung and sticking in tubes with cameras etc.....I said "thanks doc but no thanks" I opted for continued monitering.

In November I stopped coughing blood, the cat showed perfectly normal lungs, no growths no nothing. I am back to normal weight full of vim. The cat in February confirmed all clear.

Now if I asked the doctor "doc have I been healed?" I know what he would say, he would say "but my dear you have never been diagnosed with any illness" and that is exactly true.

But I thank God, Jesus my Saviour and Healer.

YEs,

the law (Gods word,Torah, starting from creation to Y'shua) requires you would die from your cancer or whatever sin caused it if that is what happened, but you are not under the law in Y'shua, you are free to be healed of both the sin and the illness received as the natural result.

Remember, the wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23, but the gift of God is perpetual/renewing life through Messiah.

Praise God.

And those who contract lung cancer from second-hand smoking or naturally-released radioactive gas, what might be the sins that caused those cancers?

take your pick, no one, myself included, is without sin save for the Son of God.

in the case of your example there are a myriad of sins going on there, the first would be that of the tobacco companies whom use their political clout to shape the laws unjustly, the second of the person smoking without care for the health of those around them Luke 6:31, and in many of these cases it is a family member that lives in the same house that are bringing that iniquity (or the result of it/cancer) onto the children Exodus 20:5-6, not to mention the defiling of their own temple, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

as far as the naturally released gas goes, we are operating under the assumption that God is a good shepherd and keeps his sheep safe and away from calamity, Job 5:19, did you get that memo?

Then God should have perhaps given us all, not just some, genes that enabled us to live without harm from the environment on this planet that He apparently created for us.
Why are some of God's "sheep" born to suffer great disabilities while not always having perhaps the advantage of an off-setting recompense such as a great intelligence like (say) Stephen Hawking?

John 10:11 If God is not dead then perhaps He must be a bad shepherd?

you make some good points, perhaps he did, perhaps not everyone is utilizing them.

for example do you know that our bodies ability to overcome disease is greatly diminished by stress?

never under estimate the power of positive thinking either.

ever hear someone say of a cancer or any disease survivor, he/she "was a fighter"? unwilling to give up, positive outlook, etc.

look at the wheat, if it bends in the wind it does not break, maybe we are not all bending.

if I was going to ask God a why it wouldn't be this, something physics based maybe.

that being said most disabilities have a cause, I think if we spent less time questioning God and more time finding cures and methods of prevention there would be less "disabled" to begin with, in any event Man has to take some responsibility for the state of affairs and stop blaming God for the consequences of their deeds.

All these happen according to the natural laws you say are all there is, what have you got to grumble at God about?

If people kill others through passive smoking they also stick each other with knives. But there is no such thing as sin, it's all relative.

No God to say stop smoking, stop getting drunk, stop breaking peoples heart, stop killing each other.

This is what YOU advocate. You got it so lump it.

Aaaand it is gunna get much, much worse.

And where does your god say don't smoke? And what does getting drunk have to do with lung cancer? Or "breaking hearts"?

Please link to a post where I advocate people killing one other through passive smoking.

Thank you for support and good wishes.

It so happened that when this all began to happen that Andy C popped me a note asking "how are things with you?" and I thank him for his prayers and support.
