No?
IOW, you're just here for the free ride.
And now you're complaining about the way its run?
This site wouldn't be squat without members, and no matter what one believes, they deserve respect and the chance to voice their views and why they feel that way. I don't get your attitude, but it sucks!
I've see a great deal of the screaming ranting and raving by those that when they get a privileged status are far abusively worse with the privilege they garnered by initial screaming of unfair i'm a victim. Equal to them is throwing a fit to pressure to obtain a privileged status, one they are not timid to abuse.
Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, manipulator.

What they are complaining about (because they have told a handful of us in many a swear-word-laced email), is that you guys aren't letting them call scripture-believing theists abusive names. They don't know how to argue if they can't do that.

Have you received an email from me to that effect? If not, kindly leave me out of it. I PREFER to debate without that crap, and I want to DROP IT, okay?
Secondly, if the ppl you're talking about are any of my online friends, it's the fact that your side GETS to call those they disagree with abusive names that is ticking them off. Having strict rules regarding decorum doesn't tick most intelligent ppl off, including me. It's when they're applied to one side and the other can be as nasty as they like as long as they don't use the "words you can't use on TV" that ppl get irritated.
The only reason I started this thread, that turned into a mudslinging fest, is because I don't see the point of a debate forum where one side gets to do nothing but verbally abuse the other, without any debate involved, and the other doesn't get to retaliate. Being here for awhile, I'm starting to understand the rules, and while they're biased in your side's favor, and there is a little bit of this "liberals deserve the way they're treated" attitude, if one makes good debate points and doesn't get too scathing about Christianity, they at least get addressed and debated rather than every debate turning into a personal attack fest/free for all. Many of us who are transplants from *some of* the Yahoo forums are used to the personal attack fests and are a bit sensitive about the bias. The reason I use so much ad hominem and end up cussing ppl out in the Yahoo forums is because that's the only thing some ppl there seem to understand. I was trying to "feel out" whether this was another forum for attacking non-Christians and political liberals or whether it was worth my time. Still trying, but at least there's been some REAL debate that I've seen.

And, that's why most of them aren't going last very long here. Most of them join discussion groups to harass Christians.

You know me. You know that's not true. When I'm not *being* harassed, I don't harass anyone.

Great - another "newbie".
Go stick your head back in the toilet you crawled out of, OK?

Isn't lying a sin, Chris, according to your belief system? I never privately emailed you. Now drop it already. You're beating a dead horse.

I don't lie. You have used foul language to us elsewhere, Katherine. If I confused you for Jinx and your other anti-Christian friends, then I apologize, but you yucked it up with them and such and know who they are, which makes you an accomplice even if you personally didn't use personal attacks and childish gutter language. However, I don't lie, and you can't deny anything what I said. If anybody wanted the truth, it's all online for the undecided to see.
Now why not drop it and debate? That's what we invited you here for!

Reason: Addition.
Well, I am more than prepared to back up anything I state as fact and have statements of opinion taken as such. That wasn't my question. My question was simply whether there is one set of standards of conduct for Christian right-wingers and another for an agnostic liberal/libertarian like myself.
Correction. There's one set of standards for Christian right-wingers (hard-core fundamentalists) and another set for anyone else.

Not at all...ask any of the atheist, agnostic, Satanist, libertarian or other long-time members here.
There is a different set of standards for new people versus established members...just like when you're at a job or in a relationship. The longer you know someone, the more forgiving you are.
