To answer your question, it depends on the believer. If they believe their god and evolution are not compatible then yes, however I think they are more likely to reject evolution before their god. However the very concept of god, and evolution are not mutually exclusive.

Also their are benefits to the consumption of meat. And the only downside is if you eat too much meat. It's like calories and fat, they are essential to life however if you eat too much then you will suffer health issues. The problem isn't the meat, it's the amount.
