Obeying Jesus' commandments - January 10th, 2012, 01:19 PM

Jesus' commandments are not burdensome on the contrary it is blessing. Yet mainstream churches are treating them as if it is a curse.

Quote:
1 John 5:3-4 (New International Version)
3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

This world is full of wicked and evil things. If we honor His teachings and strive to obey them what kind of world it will be?
Our marriages will be a blessing with much less divorce, the kids will not follow peer pressure. Society will be much less violent and a safe place to live. And we will not advocate to kill our enemies.

Jesus is our loving Brother, He is only giving us guidance how to live decently, lovingly and kindly toward others. We inherited sinful nature since Adam sinned; we are born selfish. It is arrogant to think we know how to be loving and kind without His teachings. He is the perfect Teacher of life.

We should appreciate His teachings instead of rebelling like spoiled teen- agers. His teachings are solutions to all predicaments and problems.

All His teachings are in His gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, especially in the sermon of the mount.
