If you are trying to be something you are not....you are not free, you are free when you are being what you are created to be.

If the child takes it into his head that HE is the head of the household he will very soon bring upon himself many sorrows and grief, chaos will reign. A fish is free when he is in water, that is his element, see how happily he swims along. Man is free when he is doing God's will, showing forth His glory, manifesting His manifold wisdom.

...that is what man is created for.

I'm made no attempt to insult you, Untillectual.

What I did was to OVER estimate your understanding of very simple English words and phrases as well as the various doctrinal topics being discussed.

I apologize for attempting to have an adult conversation with you. It won't happen again.

Resting in Him,
Clete

I altered nothing. Your posts are all still there for everyone to see, you idiot.

I am an adult, but I have a mental disability. I'm sorry if you were offended by my feeling insulted.

I feel you are too caught up on your learning to understand where I am coming from. I was hoping we could work toward understanding each other.

On my end this is still possible. My hope is that you will reconsider your rash conclusion that you should no longer talk to me because you are somehow superior.

English is not the native tongue of the Bible, and yet we find ways to express ourselves. Often these ways are different, but to me this is not the end but the just the beginning. I hope you can understand this.

Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Nang,

Knight (a/the forum administrator) has at least once instructed people on this forum to not copy the entire post we are responding to if it is long. Maybe this fact will help somehow.

Nang, I don't see any omissions or alterations to your post. Not trying to goad you or anything, just an observation.

I hate to break it to the peeps, but your chances of being killed or wounded in a terrorist incident are so close to zero that they might as well be zero. Worry far more about slipping in the tub.

Freewill and Calvinism - January 27th, 2012, 06:13 PM

If freewill came before Calvinism, but both of these came after the Bible was written, does it matter which is "more correct"?

My thought is that we can understand the Bible better when we understand these are philosophical and theological points of view, rather than sacred scripture.

The "omission" was Clete's words I was responding to.

"The immutable God never learned anything and never changed his mind. He knew everything from eternity."

"Experience teaches us nothing; revelation teaches all we need to know."

“ Those who proclaim that the sovereignty of God determines what justice is, (do so) by observing what God actually does. Whatever God does is just.”
