A local Planned Parenthood abortion business in California is copycatting the 40 Days for Life campaign, which recently resulted in saving the lives of more than 700 unborn children from abortion. The abortion business has set up its own 40 Days of Prayer for the local abortion center.
“We trust you to decide about your sexuality, having your children, and planning your family,” says a flier promoting the Humbolt County Clergy for Choice event. “We are religious leaders who value all human life. We accept that religions differ about when life begins. We are here to help.”
None of you anti-choicers who responded here has th eintellectual honesty to acknowledge the fact that Planned Prenthood does far more than provide abortions. In fact, abortions are only a small part of what it offers millions of poor women all over the USA.
The contraceptives it provides for many poor women have in fact PREVENTED an enormous number of abortions .
And just what would those poor women have done if they had given birth? How would they have provided for those aborted fetuses ? They would NOT have been able to in many cases and there is not even rmeotely close to enough help available for them to provide for unwanted children.
Adoption is not the answer, because it's just not a realistic solution to the abortion problem.
If not for Planned Parenthood, and if abortion were still officially illegal, they would have gone to dangerous back-alley abortionists and risked their lives and health . The poorest would have used coat hangers or other deadly makeshift devices .
And those who DID give birth would have just brpought more desperately poor choldren into the world who would have been doomed to lives of abject poverty, hunger,malnutrition, lack of education and job opportiunity when they grew up , physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and growing up amid random violence .
It would not have been pretty, I guarantee you .

What makes you think every kid who isn't aborted is going to have a horrible life? There's lots worse things than being poor.
I'm not saying I WANT women to have abprtions, just stating th eobvious fact that they are going to have them anyway, and there is no way you can sto[p the,m from doing this.
Pro-choicers like me don't LIKE abortion at all. We consider it to be a tragedy. But if you make abortion illegal, you don't stop it, just make it much more dangerous to women.
Let's face it- if the US government provided more help to poor pregnant women, such as pre natal care, and subsidies for poor women to take decent care of their children, abortion would be much rarer than it is. Pro-choicers want the government to do this.
Anti-choicers don't. They want it both ways. Get rid of government programs to help the poor,make abortion illegal, and expect poor women not to have abortions. This shows how out of touch with reality anti-choicers are .
Abortion is the tragic price society pays for poverty .
Look at the prosperous countries of Europe - Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium,Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia .
Because of this general prosperity , abortion is very rare here .
If we want to reduce the abortion rate greatly, we will have to become like Europe. But that's more easily said than done.
Suppose Romney wins the election this November, and under pressure from conservatives declares abortion illegal . This will be catastrophic for America. The republicans,if they get power, are going to do everything in their power to deny help to the poor and those down on their luck.
This will guarantee a heavy increase in the abortion rate .
If Planned Parenthood is defunded , this will definitely cause the abortion rate to increase markedly . Stupid, thoughtless, unreasonable anti-choicers !
If abortion ever becomes illegal again in America, back-alley abortion facilities will instantly spring up, and do a brisk business .
Most of the abortionists will not even be trained doctors.
Many women will die, or nearly die, and many more children will be left motherless . Women who can afford it will easily fly off to Europe or elsewhere for safe,legal abortions.
It's poor women who will be hardest hit , especially poor black and Hispanic women.
Poor women WILL use coat hangers and other dangerous makeshit devices and they will DIE !
And don't make me vomit by telling me they deserve to die. That is disgustingly callous and insensitive, and despicably hypocritical .
It's the anti-choicers who are the real racists and sexists.
And they could not care less about children once they are outside the womb.
