April 14th, 2012, 04:20 PM
"But now in Christ Jesus you who were sometimes far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ."
"For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us."
"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in the ordinances; for to make in himself one new man, so making peace."
"And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity therby."
Ephesians 2:13, 14, 15, 16.
God has made peace with with humanity through Jesus Christ.
God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their tresspasses unto them; (sinners) and has committed unto us (Christians) the word of reconciliation," 2 Corinthians 5:19.
The word of reconciliation is the Gospel. In the Gospel Jesus Christ comes into the world to make peace for us with God. As the new Adam and humanities representative he offers to God the Father a life of total and complete obedience to his Holy Law. It is this life that justifies us, Romans 3:26. God accepts the sinless and perfect life of Jesus in our name and on our behalf. This is our life that is hidden with Christ in God, Colossians 3:3.
By His death on the cross he atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.
God now sees all of humanity in Jesus Christ who has reconciled us unto God. When God looks at us all he can see is His perfect, sinless, Son Jesus Christ. God is at peace with all of humanity because of His Son Jesus Christ.
God now extends to all of humanity His offering of peace through Jesus Christ. Paul said, "Be reconciled" This offering of reconciliation is on the table for all who want "Peace With God Through Jesus Christ." You can accept this offer or you can reject this offer. To accept this free gift of reconciliation and peace with God means salvation and eternal life. To reject the free offer of reconciliation, means that you have not accepted God's free offer of reconciliation through Jesus Christ and you do not have peace with God.
