Delmar,
If I were to go into the churches of some of the people on TOL with an interpreter and began to speak in tongues, I would be shoved out the door before the interpreter had a chance.

Jesus Christ showed His disciples how to follow God as a dear child.
Jesus Christ sent His disciples to teach the nations how to follow God as dear children.
Following God as a dear child will teach you all the theology you need.

Chrysostom,
I absolutely do. However, I know that most people have no idea what that means. For them, Paul said the same thing in very specific terms for elders, children, husbands, wives, employees, employers, young men, old women, etc.

NickM,
Eat this meat.
Quote:
Mat 23:1 ¶ Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Scribes and Pharisees had to have a temple in Jerusalem where they could offer sacrifices for sins before they could sit in the seat of Moses.
There is no place for scribes and Pharisees to offer sacrifices for sin. In fact, there are no longer any Aaronic priests to offer sacrifices. They made themselves servants of Caesar.
Quote:
Joh 19:15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
For a fact, within a few days of that declaration made by the chief priests, Jesus began His ministry in the true tabernacle as the mediator of the better covenant for the houses of Israel and Judah. And, He did so as the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek even as the example and shadow put together by Moses was passing away.
Quote:
Heb 8:1 ¶ Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 ¶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Now, the old covenant that was decaying and waxing old has vanished away.
It's gone. It completely decayed, MAD guy. It waxed old and it became useless.
The example and shadow has been replaced with the TRUE.
Nevertheless, the Jews can, still, die to the flesh, be born of the Spirit, and be adopted into Christ's Order of Melchizedek.
Quote:
Heb 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Stop seeking the old city? It's gone. It really is.
Those who went outside the camp, bearing Christ's reproach, sought a city that was to come.
Now, the mother of us all is the Jerusalem which is above.
Quote:
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

NickM,
Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
This statement is not made to the disciples of Jesus. It is made to the scribes and Pharisees.
The statement is not a commandment. It is a testimony that Jesus made of what scribes and Pharisees should have done. The past tense in this statement means that the opportunity for doing the right thing had passed.
If Jesus had been talking to His disciples about their future obligations, he would have said it to them as "...these ought ye to have done...".

The Kingdom of God's dear Son was the thing I mentioned. I mentioned neither the Kingdom of Israel nor the Kingdom of God, per se.
Look at what Paul said.
Quote:
Col 1:12 ¶ Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
The Gospel of the Kingdom! The Gospel of the Kingdom.
Paul speaks of this kingdom as one which men have entered. So does Jesus.
Quote:
Mt 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
You're dodging definition of the true things by bringing up the addition of hominy to red herring. Try a recipe book, and start a new thread on it.

NickM,
You and JohnW need to find out what ad hominem means. You, also, need to understand what red herring is.
When I talk about the kingdom of God's dear Son as a kingdom which Paul says men have entered and you start talking about the Kingdom of Israel or the Kingdom of God, you have resorted to a red herring.

Which is relevant, how?

Where is the evidence for a global flood?
That doesn't make sense to me.
But, then again, you are very small.

Only because government has authority not us, to execute judgement for your familiar spirits. You are a demon possessed pervert, outside the faith. I am glad you will suffer in hell. You Christ hating pig. I do believe I have had enough of your works based "gospel". May you be accursed (sent to hell) for your works.

Stripe,
Paul gave the commandment to let men speak in tongues in church if certain conditions were met.
Quote:
1Co 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
They would refuse Paul's apostolic authority to be recognized in their church.
