"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand" (Matthew 24:15).

It can speak of AD 70.

I don't know how to confirm this.

John 1:49 NASB - Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel."

1 Corinthians 15:24 NASB - then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.

Colossians 1:13 NASB - For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

Romans 5:10 NASB - For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

2 Corinthians 5:15 NASB - and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Proverbs 2:20 NASB - So you will walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous.

I have had access to this but have not read it.

I am looking in particular at "stand in the holy place," from Daniel.

That is not the important phrase.

Matthew 24:15
`Whenever, therefore, ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever is reading let him observe)

Mark 13:14
`And when ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (whoever is reading let him understand), then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains;

I see the "let the reader understand" phrases as keys that the "abomination of desolation" phrase is coded so only people that know about how Antiochus Epiphines brought his armies against Jerusalem would understand what was about to happen.

Daniel 11:31
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Compare the coded phrases in Matthew and Mark with the plain language in Luke

Luke 21:20
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

I believe Daniel was in Babylon when he read Jeremiah.

Yes, but the prophecy from Daniel 11 was fulfilled before the time of Jesus, and what Antiochus Epiphanes did was well known during the time of Jesus.

Are you saying Antichus Epiphanes was after the captivity in Babylon?

The Greek control was before the Roman control.

Why do you differentiate between "Media-Persian" and "Chaldean"?

How does what you are saying relate to the OP? Can you show scripture that relates to the OP?

The four beasts of Daniel 7 are the Chaldean (Babylonian), Media-Persian, Greek, and Roman empires.

Are you serious?
Assuming you are serious, the Chaldean empire was ruled by Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon in Daniel 1.
The Chaldean empire and the king of Babylon were to be punished 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem (Jeremiah 25:12)
This happened in Daniel 5 when Darius the Mede took the kingdom from Belshazzar.

The prophecy of the four beasts in Daniel 7 happened during the reign of Belshazzar. Most Bible scholars agree that the four beasts represent middle-eastern empires, but there are some disagreements on which empires are represented. One of the major views begins with the empire in power at the time of the vision, the Chaldean empire under Babylon, and assign that empire to the first beast (like a lion with eagle wings). The next empire is the second beast (like a bear), and this is assigned to the Media-Persian empire that took over the Chaldean empire under Babylon. The third empire is the third beast (like a leopard with four wings and four heads), and this is assigned to the Greek empire which took over the Media-Persian empire very swiftly and split into four smaller empires when Alexander the Great died. The last empire is the fourth beast (dreadful and terrible), and this is assigned to the Roman empire that took over the Greek empire.
