This is exactly right. When communist governments take over (even when they claim it is in the best interests of the people), they always succumb to self interests and greed. The lowest common denominator is always true; Absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is exactly why George Washington (as fallible as he was being human) had the foresight to reject the offer to be King of this country.
Another accurate point made in that video is that selfless virtue is very seldom the author of innovation. This is exactly why the most humane people in history have used virtue as a way to temper the application of innovation.
