The fact is, though the Gospels record how the Lord Jesus used words to communicate it is more blessed to give than to receive in many ways, you can't find a quote in the Gospels of Jesus saying, "It is more blessed to give than to receive".
For people whose only interest in the Bible is to demonstrate that they are proud of knowing NOTHING, this is a red herring by which they can avoid acknowledging the words of the Lord Jesus and the doctrine which is according to godliness.
For those who adhere to the words of the Lord, the Lord's words found in Acts are a template for the doctrine which is according to godliness by which allusion may be made to all the many "herrings" in the Gospels at once.

The Modern AutoDecievers have developed a system of teaching whereby they excuse themselves from consenting "to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness". (See 1 Tim 6:3.)
Ironically, though they claim to be followers of Paul, it seems the only Pauline command they remember is the red herring mentioned above. I can guess at the reasons.
Maybe it's because it does'nt require them to, actually, do anything but remember nine words in sequence.
Maybe it's because they like to serve RED HERRING.
