What difference does race or affirmative action make? Cardiologists from any background had to work extremely hard and make exceptional grades to make it. Beside that, med students are renown for entering the field primarily for the money. All you have to do is listen to them talk about what cars they are going to buy, or how big their houses are going to be to realize that the motives of most have nothing to do with caring about the sick. Of the few that do experience has shown them, with few exceptions, to have come from poor backgrounds, wanting to go back to their old neighborhoods. Personally I might lean toward the doctor who actually considers their patients more than just a few mortgage payments.
"As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities."
"It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere."
"The world embarrasses me, and I cannot dream that this watch exists and has no watchmaker."
Slogan/motto:
I'll go with the one I learned from Bob Enyart: Do right and risk the consequences. Another one I like is: What did you expect?

Equally qualified does not equate to equally skilled. So which one?

I told you, whichever one had better credentials. Race is not a credential. This is the last time I'm saying this so... ta ta
The pain comes from knowing that we have never been safe, and therefore will never be safe again. It comes from knowing we can never be so ignorant again. It comes from knowing we can never be children again. Losing innocence. Remembering heaven. That was the essence of hell. -John Jakes

If you haven't noticed everyone else has been trying to tell you that the day of the dumb, redneck racist at TOL has passed. As is the case with most people and most organizations, they mature, and those who don't become irrelevant, end up marginalized and then are discarded.

Who would you rather have perform your open heart surgery? A white doctor who earned his good grades, or a black Affirmative Action doctor?
Affirmative Action wasn't a model for promoting incompetence and never altered a grade, got you through med school, helped you in residency or got you any particular certification.
So the inference that the Affirmative Action entrant into med school didn't earn his grades once enrolled is erroneous. It renders the inquiry moot.
The hospital requires you to sign off on one, so which one?
Don't be absurd.
If in fantasyland, it came up, I'd ask the attendant who they thought was the better Dr. If they didn't give an answer, like I'd said, I just don't care. It's many years of schooling, and how they got into school makes little difference to me. Their accomplishments though school, or as a Dr would make a difference to me. If they (or you) pressed it, I'd probably be more inclined to say I'd take the affirmative action Dr., because I know what scholarship students have to go through: as a recipient of aid, I was absolutely held to a higher level of accomplishment than full-paying-tuition students were.

The primary goal of communism and socialism is government ownership or control over the means of production. In the U.S., only a few people call for outright government ownership of the means of production. They might have learned that government ownership would mess things up. Instead, they've increasingly called for quasi-ownership through various forms of government regulation, oversight, taxation and subsidies. After all, if someone has the power to tell you how you may use your property, it's tantamount to his owing it.
I believe most Americans find the ideals and principles of socialism, communism and progressivism repugnant, but by our sanctioning greater government centralization and its control over our lives, we become their dupes or, as Lenin said, "useful idiots."
