Actually the OP was about how Marilyn Monroe helped out a black woman to be able to sing in a club where backwards attitudes prevented her being able to do so just because of the colour of her skin. Maybe the Club Owner simply didn't like Fitzgerald's music. I can certainly understand why.

Monroe was a sex symbol who drew attention from the media and fans and it was precisely for that reason that the club owner saw an opportunity for himself when she agreed to frequent his establishment nightly.
