FORMATTING EXPERIMENT - August 30th, 2010, 03:31 PM

This not the Evening Praise The Lord.
This a formatting experiment for double column posting.
The verses are read left to right, then the chorus.

That is why it is here in Musings and thoughts.
And probably a very, very, once in a while style for Praise the Lord II

Quote:

Praise the Lord!

Then He spoke … to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.
Luke 18:1

Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer.
Acts 3:1

Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17

The Hour of Prayer

.....Glory to God for the joy to meet............................Rich are the blessings that all may seek
Here at the hour of prayer;..............................................Here at the hour of prayer;
Welcome the bliss of communion sweet....................Grace for the weary, the faint, the weak,
Here at the hour of prayer...............................................Here at the hour of prayer.

.Far from the world we may turn away,..............................Oh, what a holy and calm repose......
Here at the hour of prayer;.................................................Here at the hour of prayer;
Gladly we rest from the toils of day.............................Love in its fullness the heart o’erflows..
Here at the hour of prayer...................................................Here at the hour of prayer.

Nearer the gate to the soul’s bright home,
Nearer the vales where the faithful roam,
Nearer to God and the Lamb we come,
Here at the hour of prayer.

Praise the Lord! Amen! and Amen!

Blessings, peace, grace and mercy to all here at TOL!

.....O LORD my God, in You I put my trust. Psalm 7:1
.....To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Psalm 25:1

Praise the Lord!

Double column it worked!

However the double column verses are to short than the single column.

Oh really?

What was the first clue?

.....To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Psalm 25:1

What do you think? * post in 10-11 minutes... - September 11th, 2010, 03:44 PM

Am I being a whiner or a complainer be. I probably shouldn't do this . . .

But This was cut and paste at least eight times . . . In the space of 10-11 minutes. Isn’t that over the top? When I saw this post in "Praise the Lord! II", I thought okay, but eight times in 10-11 minutes in 7 seven other threads. A couple times that’s one thing, but eight? Isn't that a bit much? With that many it looks like spamming.

I'm thankful when others post a "Praise the Lord!" in Praise the Lord! II, but I have no idea how Gurucam post relates to a "Praise the Lord!" post. Can somebody enlighten me or shine the light on this in what is my ignorance. Maybe Gurucam can please explain it to me . . .

Through musings, we gather the threaded musings of others into a tapestry which makes sense to ourselves.

Get enough bemused, bothered, and bewildered (thanks bybee), gathered into one tapestry, and you'll have a political party.

Just upping the ante on musings LOL

Some of these I have read and I have seen and heard.

The executioner tells the guy in the electric chair, "Good luck."
"Agent of Death" by R. G. Elliott, New York State Penal System

The executioner tells the guy in the gas chamber, "Breath deep it helps."
"88 Men and 2 Women" by Clinton Duffy, California State Penal System

"If told you their names, you would know who they are."
Channel 9 news reporter in Denver

NASCAR's Curtis Turner crashes at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the report tracks down Curtis and sks him, "Curtis, what happened out there?" Curtis turner responds, "I crashed, you can do that here."

This is kind of after the matter, I noticed that the non-trinitarians really like beating up the trinitarians, they been called host things if read the posts correctly, one was idol worshiper, false something or other. I was just wondering about the hostility, just wondering.

If the non-trinitarians are trying to sow discord among the fellowship, that is a shame.

If some TOLer's believe the trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, they can do that, I do not think they see God as a three headed personage, they see 1 John 5:7.

If you don't believe in the trinity, well, like the trinitarians, that's your choice. No point being unkind to others.

I must live under a rock...

I did a search for the Methodist Church and/or United Methodist Church, and I discovered that a few of the celebrate Ash Wednesday and do a blessing of the animals.

Do all Methodist and/or United Methodist Churches do this?

I was raised in full gospel church, my earliest recollection is the Church of the Open Door, whose founder was Ruben A. Torrey close friend of D. L. Moody, Torrey was also the first president of the Moody Bible Institute.

I guess was thinking that the Methodist and/or United Methodist Church were basic without a lot of rituals, now I'm wondering about the Presbyterian and/or United Presbyterian Church, or other denominations. We had nothing like that in the Church of the Open Door, AoG, or the Foursquare Church, I understand that rites/rituals/traditions are what they are.

I don't know maybe I'm the one with brains of a melon.

No I'm not looking for any argument, but some reasonable insight and understanding.

It's a thread about musez?
.
we've heard of the twelve, and even the '13th Muse' (ie. Ayn Rand),
.
but we never heard of one named 'Sophianic' ... what a weird name!

Talking even more trinities yet - June 8th, 2012, 10:24 AM

Quote:
On 7July 2009 Ktoyou say: The Feminine or "Sophianic Trinity" > Mother / Daughter / Holy Soul
.
How's this for a *truly* sophianic-trinity :
.
the-god > who has many names (my favz being: abba, the great-spirit, & Cosmic-Dawg!)
the unique-son > the divine-Logos (aka the Way of Love & Reason) & Jesus the Christos
the spirit of truth > the encourager & Lady Sophia (ie. the spirit of wisdom)
.
OR ... to put the same theological realities into other words that make even *more* sense
... uh, that is, from a more shall we say "existential" perspective:
.
the Way (#2), the Truth (#3), and the Life (#1) !!!
.
Also > tol > *three* letters > T > O > L !
.
Gotta love those trinities ... cause three is such a perfect number --> 3
.
Just knock it over onto its side and you have: BOOBies!
.
... Maybe *this* is why trinitarianism is so popular with male theologians?

They felt the lack in having a great chasm between the early church and the reformation and thought something beautiful had been lost in between. Some of this being liturgical practice in churches not accustomed to such. For example, friends of ours mentioned they'd lit the Advent wreath in their church the previous Sunday, a non-denom church with a Baptist pastor. I about fell over.

I'll see if I can find the article for you.

Edit: I think this is it, but it's a long one and I haven't read through it to be sure. I hope it is, if you read it, let me know.
