I know a man who calls: his doctor, his kids, his parents, and his grandparents "dude". He doesn't mean anything by it.

Service employees are the worst. And it is only half their fault. They don't know what "you're welcome" means or when to use it. For some reason, they think thank you for the product is followed by another thank you, rather than you're always welcome here.

Intellectually oriented people delight in intellectually discernible ideals and laws of society, morality, religiosity and even English Grammar.

They are the dead who are burying their dead.

A spiritually aware person does not take to training in the use of English Grammar. They seek ye first the kingdom of God within then all things are added. Through this path way they rise to intuitive actualization. Then they discern the finest undying reality in language and then produce feats in English language (which include content) the likes of the very greatest.

The finest underlying reality in language is the deepest underlying principles which are not physically detectable but which inform and guide all languages. These cannot be had through physical discernment which defines and anchors formal education (and which effectively undermine spiritual actualization). By operating from this level of awareness one can be easily competent in any language when one has love for that idea. Love for an idea causes one to perpetually dwell on that idea within one's own heart or spirit. This leads to spiritual/intuitive actualization related to that idea which is loved. Without love for an idea, no intuitive actualization (i.e. Spiritual Gift) related to that idea is achieved.

Under the guidance of 'intellectual schooling', many become intellectually competent in the construct of English Language but have nothing wise to say. They are never holistically developed. The aim (or end purpose) of language is to communicate an idea or ideas. The 'intellectually schooled' become skilled in the mean and have no end to deliver.

The best is achieved, not by being trained, but by a Gift of the Spirit acquired by seeking first the kingdom of God within. This is not achieved from without, i.e. this is not achieved in a classroom under intellectual effort. This is an internal search of one's own inherent make up. Then one owns both the means and the end.

I have witnessed a school teachers adjudicate a conflict between students. I have witnessed her continuously stopping the verbal account that was being give by the defending student to correct the his English grammar. The entire entire event was focused on Grammar correctness. The actual conflict was never focused on or addressed or resolved in any meaning full way.

They have been trained to parrot things . . . . and you know it, you can sense it.

The service industries are anchored on acquiring mindless people who they can train to function as robots.

Even in their kitchens there are no chefs. As far as possible, even at the level of management, every thing, i.e. every activity, has been reduced to simple repetitive tasks which require no creative input from the general staff.

Ever witness a cashier get completely confused when asked for a combination of items on the menu which does not conform to their standard offering or if they have to give change without the use of the register? Many customers do not worry to check their changes for they do not know how to do so without a calculator. Every one is trained to simply let thing happen as it may. Every one is trained to simply be followers. This suits leaders every where.

This is the intellectual solution to modern business. It is geared to be independent from the input of creativity from employees and franchise holders (who are often time unwittingly full of them selves because they making 'plenty' money).

The very foundation of spiritual awareness is the owning and expression of one's own inherent creativity. Things which deprives people of this expression are in the service of the Antichrist.

But what is the problem here? They are polite and courteous, so why does it matter if they 'thank you' rather than 'you're always welcome here'? The rule of customer service is to be polite and friendly, there isn't a set script of phrases you have to use

At any event the spirit behind the statement must be considered.

Did you discern the spirit of the statement or did you focus only on the letter?

If the young person using the descriptions meant no disrespect then you have unfairly punished both the person and the establishment.

Where as "you guys" may be deem disrespectful at all forums by you. This may not be deemed disrespectful by others including younger people. Other people, including youths must be permitted to communicate on their terms as well. Some of them have very limited approaches to communicate. They must live in and survive in their reality. They will be foreigners in your reality. If they adopt your reality they can become increasingly irrelevant in the currently prevailing reality which is being shaped by the youths and not older people.

It is not reasonable for them to have to learn and adopt how you like them to communicate and then they can speak to you. What about other customers who may all also have their individual likes with respect to how they should be spoken too. Does a youth have to learn all these different appraoch and then identify the likes of each customer, so as to deal with each customer on their individual terms, in a restaurant waiter job?

I do not see that it making sense to accept that "you guys" is absolutely bad and/or disrespectful and that it be banding from use every where.
I agree with this.

They may've been trained to be casually friendly, especially if the eating establishment was some casual place. Hardly anyone nowadays will be calling all the customers "sir" and "ma'am".

K has a point. It's true that language changes. But my feeling is that it should change to become more precise and expressive. Calling all human groups "you guys" is the wrong way.

I grew up in the Midwest, which is about as casual as America gets. And I still call men I don't know well, "sir", and women I don't know well, "Ma'am." And yes, I do adjust my estimation of people upwards when I see them do that.

God bless us, every one.
