John 6:27-29 is clear: any 'work' of man which achieves anything with God, is in fact the result of the work of God, lest any man should boast.

No, my point was that because Muz is embarrassing you, instead of refuting him with scripture (which you can't), you attempt to change the topic of discussion (a topic not found in the Bible)

Hence, "the dingo ate your Bible"

Er.....rather......you need to read post 12, where I have pointed out his errors.

And your idea that one refutes with scripture, is silly. Based on that idea, everyone would believe the same thing.

Scriptural issues are decided philosophically, not scripturally.

Apollos didn't think so:

(Acts 18:28 KJV) For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

The OP is self-verifying, and stands unrefuted.

I am too experienced to go wandering down the garden path chasing after Mr Muzic's impish behaviour where he simply grabs anything he can muster and promotes it as a valid rebuttal. Just because someone types a reply, doesn't mean it requires specific refutation: if I did that, I'b be playing into his hands: his modus operandi is to make statements which are not probable, but simply possible, and get you wasting your time refuting the possible but ridiculous.

And so the way to handle Mr Muzic, is to simply reply at the general summary level so that he can't slice and dice it into an unlimited number of permutations and combinations.

For example, one doesn't have to reply to his idea that John 6:37 is saying the same thing as John 3:35, or that the "All" from john 6:37 is neuter but the "him" in the same verse is male gender: one simply has to reply at the general level.

An experienced debater sets the terms of engagement. I'm an experienced debater Mr Tet. You aren't.

Scriptural issues are decided philosophically, not scripturally.
Apollos didn't think so:
(Acts 18:28 KJV) For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

You're like the guy who quotes a scripture to prove that scripture is from God.

Quoting scripture at me to prove that scriptural issues are not decided philosophically but scripturally, is just plain dum. And circular. And question begging.

So you're also like the guy who quotes OT scriptural prophecies to prove that "Israel" in prophecy is a reference to Israel of the flesh.

Scriptural truth cannot be decided by scripture, because that is to pull yourself off the ground by your own bootstraps. That is, the issue is not scripture, but truth, and truth is not scripture, but a person.

You need to think a bit more with your brain rather than with your fingers. People who were converted in the dark ages didn't have scripture, and Paul wasn't converted by being convinced by scripture, and he knew more scripture than most.

So don't be so naive and think that somehow someone of my intellect is going to be stumped by someone of your intellect.

I've had fun with you Mr Tet for a couple of minutes, but I'm too experienced with waste any more time on your impish teases born of boredom and the fact that everyone has become bored of your 70AD silly idea.

So either address the OP, or stay off it.

(1 Cor 4:6) Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.

How many threads are you going to start about Muz? Are you obsessed with him or something?

How about starting a thread about dingos? Since you live in Australia, it could be a thread where you would actually know more about the topic then everyone else (a change of pace for you)

I thought you were a grammarian?

How much intellect does it take to write "experienced with waste any more time"?

What kind of prose style is that Colossians?

Hi Colossians,

Nice to see you

Are you a Calvinist? Are you born again? If so would you explain what born again is?

thanks.
