Since Paul, way past the middle of Acts, calls the Ephesian elders Holy Ghost-made feeders of the church of God, the things I've read about your understanding of the BOC have a great opposer.
What does "way past the middle of Acts" have to do with there being a church of God and it being those who had sold out?

Dear heir,
In a different thread, I pointed out Acts 20:28. The Holy Ghost made the Ephesian elders overseers to take heed unto themselves and all the flock, to feed the church of God.
This was long after Acts 8:1
Quote:
And Saul was consenting to his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Jesus Christ showed His disciples how to follow God as a dear child.
Jesus Christ sent His disciples to teach the nations how to follow God as dear children.
Following God as a dear child will teach you all the theology you need.

This is what the verse says

Acts 20:28 KJV Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

so? What is your point?

I showed you from scripture who the church of God is. http://www.theologyonline.com/forums...&postcount=266 You didn't touch it. What is your point. Spell it out.

Dear STP,
You got more of the whole story with this one.
Quote:
2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
The predestinated were saved according to God's grace before the world began. That's when we who are saved were saved.

Jesus Christ showed His disciples how to follow God as a dear child.
Jesus Christ sent His disciples to teach the nations how to follow God as dear children.
Following God as a dear child will teach you all the theology you need.

Dear STP,
If I can get you to consider a concept...
There seems to be a sense of salvation that the unsaved hold: "I'm saved. I'm not going to hell".
There is another sense of salvation that the saved hold: "We're saved. Now, we can know the Father according to His purpose and grace. We can know His Son through the words He left us. We can know the Spirit in our fellowship together".
Do you know the Father according to His purpose and grace- His (i.e., not your denomination's.)
Quote:
John3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jesus Christ showed His disciples how to follow God as a dear child.
Jesus Christ sent His disciples to teach the nations how to follow God as dear children.
Following God as a dear child will teach you all the theology you need.

What's the purpose of the Body of Christ, according to Paul?

I don't have a denomination. Why would I want to disassemble the Body of Christ into parts? The Body of Christ is made up of all those who believed the gospel of Christ, and trusted Christ. They have a testimony of salvation and do not add anything to the gospel, making it of none effect (things like, "to be saved, you must desire spiritual gifts")

Already been, when Christ went. But, the Father showed him the pathway out as a result of me having been justified.

STP,
Years ago I answered this question. This is one of your dodges you use because your getting dispie theology kicked from here, there, and back with the words of Paul.
Of course I was sinner. Still am. But there was a day that I believed the word of God that I was a sinner and the only way to have to eternal life was to start following Christ who was crucified and raised from the dead.
You dodge and set aside every word of Paul that you can't pervert.
That is the way you will be judged, little buddy. You sit in judgement on Paul who said he was a witness of Christ. You disqualify the Lord's commandments to you through Paul as if he was a false witness.

Jesus Christ showed His disciples how to follow God as a dear child.
