Computer/internet problems - Theology Online

I got my new modem yesterday. My cable and my wireless internet are working fine. But, my DSL isn't. When I tried to get online on my computer, I got a message saying that I needed to contact my provider because I'm not allowed online because of a change in the settings. So, I will only be online when

's asleep or at work for the next few days. I have to use her computer because mine's not set up for wireless. Hopefully, the guy who actually does the repairs for my phone company can help me more than their call center can. They had me run my virus protector and then told me that I needed to take my computer in to a computer shop and have them reset my settings so that I can go online with it. I won't have the money to do that until the first. I may end up getting a new computer if this isn't fixed soon. I should be able to get one fairly cheap at Walmart.

Okay. I don't know what the problem is. I just got off the phone with my phone company. He's sending a guy out in about 1/2 hour (after lunch). But, this problem is weird. I have something new to add to the mix. My home pages for Firefox (TOL) and for Chrome (Facebook) won't load on the correct browsers. I get an error message that says I need to contact my provider because my network settings won't allow me online. But, TOL works on Chrome and Facebook works on Firefox (I just found this out after hanging up with my phone company.). I'm hoping that I don't have to change everything around.

I don't have a virus according to my virus protector. And, my phone and cable are working. So, there should be no reason that this should be happening, in my opinion. I will get online again later. Just wanted to let you guys know and was hoping that someone might have an/some idea/s.

And, everything is back to normal with my internet (although the guy said that, if it were him, he would never use Firefox over Google Chrome...

All he did was make sure I had everything plugged in right (I did) and restart each browser. He didn't know what the problem was. He had the same thing happen before he restarted the browsers. I tried bringing up both browsers several times and nothing happened. That's why I called my phone company this morning.
