Odds and ends from the internet - May 28th, 2012, 09:32 AM

First off, some drink. Would you like some Salty Watermelon Pepsi? The snack sensation from Japan.

Next up is the giant Tetsujin, also from Japan. Hmmmm, Japan?? .

At 60 ft tall and 50 tons, it cost 1.5 million to create. Kind of makes you feel stupid for complaining about some things we spend money on right?

My hometown built this sculpture out of exhaust pipes. I think I might prefer the robot dude.

Well you can get some laughs out of the robot dude, especially if you put a towel around him haha! I suppose people really like cars there. Sometime I'll have to get out and take some photos of strange stuff here. That is strange zippy!

Last from me for now, is Valeria Lukyanova. Self proclaimed most famous person on Russian language internet and the so called Real Life Barbie, the Ukrainian born Valeria purports to have undergone plastic surgery to achieve the appearance below. Friends close to her claim this is the real her, plus contact lenses and make up.

Strange, well she also purports to walk the astral plane and be an incarnation of a moon goddess. Strange indeed.

I am surprised to say that I am impressed.

I lied, I got one more thing for now.

My favorite book series as I child. I found this on Amazon about a week ago and have been meaning to share it and see who else has read these.

It's called Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. There was three of them and you can get the whole treasury of stories on Amazon for under $10 hardcover! How awesome is that? These books were so strange and creepy, mostly do to Stephen Gammell's artwork but I read them so many times as a child.

I think we can all admit that whoever made the original Barbie was pretty much just slapping pieces together and hoping something worked out. There's no need to rub it in.

How come no one ever claims to be the incarnation of Joe Blow the ditch digger?

The internet is full of win. All the phrases like the one I just used that butcher the english language. And it is a magnet for con artists and liars to see who will listen to them. And I don't even mean godrulz this time.

Quote:
715 meters per second from a 420mm barrel. That is 2345 fps from a 16.5 inch barrel. Converted to a 16.0 inch barrel, it is a little slower. While it is a little more energy than 300 BLK up close, by about 100 yards, 300 BLK passes it due to the higher-BC bullets, and at 300 meters, 300 BLK has 16.7% more energy.

The 9 inch barrel resulted in 20 inches of penetration. The 16 inch barrel resulted in 24 inches of penetration. Both at 300 yards, with ammo that starts out at 2350 fps from a 16 inch barrel.

Stated another way, it penetrates just as well at 300 meters as it does at 10 meters. Fascinating stuff....He runs silencertalk forum, (it is a suppressor). Although this nugget is not from there.

If reincarnation is true, then everybody's been the ditch-digger, many times probably. There have been billions of them, after all. And who'd want to remember living that life?
