Three Necessities -
May 30th, 2012, 03:10 PM
There are three necessities required by which sinners might be saved from enslavement to sin, death, and the devil:
The Father must determine grace towards whom He will show mercy.
Romans 9:15; Ephesians 2:4.
The Son must die a substitutional death for those chosen to receive redemption and forgiveness. Hebrews 8:3, 9:16, 23
The Holy Spirit must draw and convict all justified, of Christ's righteousness. John 16:7-11; John 3:3-8
Apart from these necessary works performed by Triune God, no soul would ever escape judgment, the wrath of God, or hellfire.
"Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us. O Lord our God, masters beside You have had dominion over us; but by You only we make mention of Your name." Isaiah 26:12-13

"The immutable God never learned anything and never changed his mind. He knew everything from eternity."
"Experience teaches us nothing; revelation teaches all we need to know."
“ Those who proclaim that the sovereignty of God determines what justice is, (do so) by observing what God actually does. Whatever God does is just.”

Agreed.
And for election to mean anything, it must be a promise to people that contains all 3 of these things...
Peace, Ted

"which sinners might be saved"-Nag
Saved:to be preserved from a danger.
Like any good Calvinist, yiou were predestined to be saved; therefore, you were never in any danger.
Thus endeth the thread, and anyone listening to anything you say/have said, as pertaining to justification/salvation.
There are three necessities required by which sinners might be saved from enslavement to sin, death, and the devil:
Apart from these necessary works performed by Triune God, no soul would ever escape judgment, the wrath of God, or hellfire.
The implication being that these three conditions are fair, impartial and applicable to all people. What you should say is
"There are three necessities required by which those sinners who are predestined to be saved might be saved from enslavement to sin, death, and the devil:"
There is in fact (according to your doctrine) no method at all by which anyone else can be saved. And the three requirements you give are really only spin substituting for that rather unloved p word. I.e., not fair or impartial at all.
Of course, technically, the first two scriptures you cite do not support your claim of them, but that's just what I'd expect so I guess there is not much to say about that.
The other thing is that you mention sin, death and the devil right at the start, but you conclude with

judgment, the wrath of God, or hellfire.
There's a bit of a non-sequitur here: these last things only happen because God directly causes them to happen. You can be saved from sin, death and the devil but surely the logical way to be saved from these latter things is simply for God not to do them. In other words salvation isn't from those things. The judgement of the wicked is a separate issue.
Total Misanthropy. Uncertain salvation. Luck of the draw. Irresistible damnation. Persecution of the saints.

Do you understand the difference between "condition," and "necessity?"

I am not too interested in what you think I should say.

God's grace is the ONLY power that saves sinners. Other "methodologies" only prove to be humanistic efforts, at best.

I did not post "three requirements." I posted three "necessities."

My point and the purpose of this OP, so . . .

Uh?
God did not "do" the things His creatures "did"; like violate His moral Law . . . did He?"

Perhaps you have become lost in your thoughts? Care to explain what sinners are saved from, if not the judgement and wrath of God?

Correct....never haved liked Calvinist chicks. They usually, after a few belts, start pawning over me, and later blame it on the bartender, who was predestined to spike their drinks.

Any particular reason you want to suggest as to why HE determines grace towards some whom He will show mercy, but not others?
Peace, Ted

Probably this answer is pregnant with meaning for all its cryptic nature but it's over my head...???

Yes, I wondered that too, after having been told that a requirement is not the same as a necessity. One wonders at times if Nang speaks the same language as we do. I daresay it is very convincing to her.

Incorrect.
The three necessities were accomplished by Triune God in order to manifest and reveal His will and good purposes.
Not a speck of God's saving grace is contingent upon "penitent hearts" of men, for there is no such thing in this world until God first acts to change the hearts of sinners in regeneration.
And Triune God has determined whose hearts will be changed according to His power and grace, according to election; not according to good or bad actions of men. (Romans 9:11)
