Milton Beryl said, "A comic is a guy who says funny things. "A comedian is a guy who says things funny." Therein, lies the differentiation...One tells/writes a funny joke,(subjective) the other says/writes funny things...GM has always preferred, saying/writing funny things!! (bazaar, introspective, surreal, silly, detached, absurd, exaggeration, etc,...) There are others who would rather tell/write jokes. And, that's okay. They get laughs and make others happy...I find humor in the "human drama."

We have a tendency to laugh at someone, should they slip on a banana peel...We find humor in personal misfortune and for one brief moment we escape the problems of the day, while being sent into hysterics over the "banana peel scenario." It made us laugh!!! What if the person who slipped on the banana peel, actually, created the scenario from beginning to end and orchestrated the laugh behind the scenes?? Either way it still got the same reaction, a laugh...One area (of our scenario) was unintentional, the other intentional...

To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic.

Again, I don't get it. But, if you're a friend of TH and have just read what he said, I'm certain you're either laughing really hard or you're saying, "At a boy TH, you told him!!"

GM, you are being a very poor sport. If one finds humor in a remark which TH makes it somehow becomes a conspiracy?
TH and TomO are known for their delightful and cogent wit. They are appreciated by many of us who regularly post on this web site.
It appears that you are intimating that to be a friend to TH is to be an enemy of you and your mentor and guide Chrys?
Well, I wish you many blessings as, like Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the two of you toddle off into the sunset!

I see by your obvious sarcasm, you've chosen, already, which side to be on!!! You attack, not only I, but Cm, which proves the point, that there ARE different sides to choose, in any given situation...You've proven that, by taking a side!!!

It's OK to take sides. The fact that you've gotten to know and like a particular person, makes you more susceptible to be, "bias" towards someone you haven't known for long and haven't bonded with...That's just human nature. A problem can arise however, if it comes down to whose right or wrong in any given situation...Should you take the side of a person who is wrong simply because you like them? Or, should right or wrong be considered apart from personal biases?? That's up to our "personal choice." We must all make those kinds of choices in life...

And this is why you and Chrys err. You took Meshak's side when she was clearly wrong in her theology and even judgmental.

Who exactly does that? I am friends (or at least on civil terms) with many of the individuals who have posted on this thread. However, that does not mean I will agree with every post they make.
Liking someone does not mean agreeing with every view they hold ...

We ALL choose sides whether we're aware of it or not!! If a person comes forward to defend what their friend says, then, obviously, they've chosen one side over the other...
