One could say life here in this physical, limited, conditional existence, is 'hell' more or less. Back to what "life is what you make it". All is coordinated by mind, perspective, attitude, point of view,...while all the while there is that pristine pure awareness, that is 'pure consciousness' itself.
The teachings of Jesus presented in the gospels, sermon on the mount, etc. appear to be neglected for formulaic theories of 'salvation' via 'faith', which has seemed to bypass the simple teachings of the Master, if we can interpret such in their purity.

All religion's speak of the same thing, when their mythology is broken down through the symbolism of astrology praticed by the knower's of old, which is the esoteric science hidden from the exoteric masses by the so called church that invented the doctrine of hell to instill fear not love and mercy that Jesus contradicts, and was a story of regeneration that is not new but old, the Christ within, a universal concept for all men regardless of ones exoteric religious beliefs, knowing is much better than belief, like Love is better than fear and hate.

The great masters of more than a few religious traditions have known the 'esoteric science', that 'God' is a
universal power and presence, true religion being 'cosmic knowledge', working with and being in harmony with universal laws and principles. It comes back to love being the fulfillment of the law, since if we reduce things down to their
essence and
movement, we see 'love is the law', and its movement is guided by divine will (such inspires the manifestion of creation).

Mount Sinia couldn't have said it better!!

Well, those waiting for Moses at the base of the mountain were frightened by the thunder and lightning upon the mount, but even more awed by the spiritual glow (nimbus/shekinah) that radiated from Moses face when he came into the assembly. (may we all carry such anointing).
As far as the original laws that fell down and were broken before a new set of plates were made, we can only speculate, but the 10 commandmentss hold their own as fundamental precepts concerning relationships between God and man. Do such laws still hold? of course...as long as they are intrinisic to the those principles which uphold or govern relationships in space-time. Laws and principles hold in their own realms or may be transcended by higher ones, but persist nonetheless.
