I just don't understand why some people seem to have a compelling need to imply that they are pure and pious. They take offense at the slightest thing when perhaps it is only how they interpreted something another person posted. Then they often report it. It is like "there, there, see the person insinuated something and it must be reprehensible because if I had done it that is what it would be".
Tomorrow I am going to have a good time. Now I mean that sincerely without any lewd connotation. But I'll bet there is someone out there that would report that statement because of what they are predisposed to read into it.

Please do not allow that to bother you. The "holier than thou" crowd are always with us.

Because I am pure and pious.

Only the extremely "naive" wouldn't realize you've dabbled in innuendo from time to time...It doesn't take a dirty mind to decipher your statements, it only takes a "savvy" mind that's been around for awhile!! You're not kidding, "those" types, with your innocent act!!! No offence intended...
Sorry , anyways I don't know the answer to the question of why some want to portray themselves as pious, I don't know the bible that well. I suppose some do live pious and that is respectable but my experience tells me most just want you to think they are. Behind closed doors who knows what they do.
I do know this, if I had a choice to be friends with a pious looking guy and a guy who just hopped off a bike, wearing a punisher shirt and a cross..... I'd choose the biker. I don't know why but there is an element of realness there that I'd trust while the other guy seems like he is trying too hard . My life experiences has taught me the rougher looking dude is usually nicer to me so maybe it is the honor among thieves thing, I don't know.

Or as those of us in Southern Louisiana like to say: "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"
"If you say the Rosary faithfully until death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins 'you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.' [2] Even if you are on the brink of damnation, even if you have one foot in Hell, even if you have sold your soul to the devil as sorcerers do who practise black magic, and even if you are a heretic as obstinate as a devil, sooner or later you will be converted and will amend your life and save your soul, if----and mark well what I say----if you say the Holy Rosary devoutly every day until death for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins" (St. Louis Marie de Montfort, Secret of the Rosary, Red Rose).
