Rest in Peace, Pastor Paul! -

I found out today, that my old pastor (the one who preached the day I came to Christ) passed away four days ago. He was 85 years old and married to his wife for forty-five years. Together, they were still ministering to the homeless, the sick, and to those in jail. Pastor Paul Fliflet was a great example of how Christ can show in a person through the love he shows to his neighbors.
I was about twelve years old when I first met Pastor Paul and became a Christian about a year later. Ten years later, he dedicated my daughter. I looked on him as something of a father figure for many years. I will miss him so much.
June is Gay Pride Month. Tolerance and diversity? More like tolerate perversity.
You will see him again someday. That is the joy of being a Christian. Goodbyes are not forever. That is something an atheist cannot understand. Still the lengthy absence is sad.

You made me smile with that comment, Inzl. Pastor Paul made the same comment to me at my husband's memorial service, in 1999. Pastor Paul is the first man that I respected, after growing up in the house of a woman who said that women could do anything, including having and raising children, without men. Pastor Paul showed me how a man is supposed to act toward his wife, family, friends, and church. I'm going to call Jann (his widow) tomorrow.

Faithful
His body sheltered resting in the earth, his soul safe in the arms of Jesus,
safe on His gentle breast, there o’rshaded, sweetly his soul shall rest - Amen!
In The Glow Of Early Morning
In the glow of early morning,
In the solemn hush of night;
Oft methinks I hear His footsteps,
Stealing down the path of time;
Long I’ve waited, blest Redeemer,
For that upward call of Thine.

.....To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. Psalm 25:1
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
