The Left is Obsessed with So-Called Race - June 16th, 2012, 07:19 AM

[MSNBC Guest: Would A White President Get Heckled?] "This is just so unprecedented and outrageous, that you have to ask the question, would the right-wing president be doing this if we had a white president there?" MSNBC guest and Democratic strategist Julian Epstein said on the channel this afternoon.

"I think it's a very important question because I think this is the first African-American president. We've never had a white president been told by the opposing party to shut up in the middle of a major address to the Congress. We've never had a president like this heckled so disrespectfully. We've never had this otherness afforded to any other president and I think the right wing has some explaining to do because to me it's patently obvious," he said." Vid: MSNBC Guest: Would A White President Get Heckled?

Was the President disrespected because of his so-called race (Ac 17:26) or because of his policies? Eccl 10:2

Good point. Clinton and Carter (Carter is much more leftist than Obama) also had republicans screaming accusations at them when they addressed Congress.

Oh, wait...

God bless us, every one.

Did Bush have a shoe thrown at him? Was it because he was white?

But of course, no American did that.

The republicans didn't scream accusations at Carter or Clinton during their addresses to Congress because...

And, to be fair, you can kind of see why some Iraqis might want to throw a shoe at him. Especially as the guy who did it was from Sadr City.

Just too ironic. How many threads about homosexuality are started by the 'left' TSF? Who is it who want to police what people do in their own bedrooms?

The obsession with sex stems from the far right for the most part on here...

Well this is fun isn't it?

After all Larry Craig and Mark Foley were democrats... Larry Craig was hitting on guys in an airport restroom. And Mark Foley was trying to seduce underage Congressional pages, while his party's leadership was aware and protecting him.

... oh, wait. Those were republicans. But you still have Barney Frank. He's a democrat, and he's homosexual.

Of course Barney Frank doesn't cruise restrooms. Maybe that's the difference.

God bless us, every one.

I tend to forget that Obama is 'black', as his features are so European, and his skin is so pale he'd look VERY out of place in a black community in Africa.

I think that him being constantly identified by his 'blackness' is part of the American problem with race, not a political Left or Right one.

I disagree. It's very much politically motivated.
The Democrats knew they had a fail-safe candidate, because no matter what one's disagreement with Obama, one will be called racist for saying it.
It happens on this forum all the time.

For example, if it was in a western European country, then the colour of the skin of a politician or president would be of little interest. It's the fact that you say he was chosen BECAUSE of his colour, as a defence against criticism, means that the colour of the skin is important to Americans.
