THE WORD OF GOD WAS GROWING !! -
June 18th, 2012, 05:08 PM
Hi to all and may think that the Gospels writer wrote many years later and we see that in 1 Cor 15:4 that Paul was READING about them .
In Acts 6:7 , : And the " Word of God " was growing . And the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was being Multiplied greatly . , and a great crowd of the priests were obeying the faith ,
The WORD OF GOD , is the written word . It obvious , that the Holy Spirit was guiding the disciples to write .
The Greek word for " growing " is in the Greek Imperfect Tense . which speaks of CONTINOUS ACTION IN PAST TIME !!
SO , it means that the Gospels were being written that what is thought , dan p
Mr 12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Hi , and it was the Phraisees and lawyers who were the un-blievers of that day who did not question Jesus , concerning marriage .
It was about who here husband would be in the resurrection , since she was marriage 7 times , so read Luke 20:36 , and what does this have to do with the OP ?
Are you trying to help me out ??
Yes , that is what it is , you are helping me out !!

How do you figure that the "Word of God" is the written word?

I can't say it has been an endeavor of mine to figure out what "word of god" meant in Acts 6:7, but it doesn't seem as obvious to me as it seem to you. Does it have to be much different that what "word of god" meant in Acts 4:31?

Hi , and in Acts 4:31 the Greek word used there is again LOGOS !
But in Acts 2:14 it reads " hearken to my WORDS/RHEMA which is the spoken word .
In Acts 6:11 word there also is the Greek word RHEMA , WHICH IS THE SPOKEN WORD , G4487 .
In John 3:34 it reads , speaketh the words , is RHEMA .
And the same in Matt 12:36 and in many other verses .
LOGOS is the written " word of God " and RHEMA is the spoken word .
AS in my other posts they are in the Imperfect tense !!

But Acts 4:31 explicitly contradicts what you state here as it makes the case that the "logos theos" is spoken.
"And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word (logos) of God (theos) with boldness."
Logos is also used throughout the New Testament with no regard for any written word.

That word of God, what God was communicating to the apostles and other ministries was being received and acted upon.
The truth was growing in the hearts of the disciples.
They were learning it and living it more and more.
It that all truth that was being learned.
