If there's only one name that will get you into heaven then why do some preachers say--"I baptize you in the name of the Father, son, and Holy Ghost."--Why do they not use His name and say, "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ?" There is only ONE NAME to be baptized in--He didn't come bearing three names to baptize in.
Same question applies to prayer--why do some pray THROUGH the NAME of the son? Or in the name of the SON? He is God--He has all authority--He holds the keys to Heaven, Hell and Death. Don't we want to honor Him by calling Him by His name? Did He walk among His own and be denied for us for no reason--do we not recognize our God?

"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call" (Acts 2:38-39).
