Was Peter in Rome during , AD 42-64 ? - July 30th, 2012, 01:36 PM

Hi to all , and was Peter in Rome during , AD 42-64 , which seems to be and acceptable date .

I was reading a book that I had ordered a couple of years ago and ran upon this agrument as to why Peter NEVER was in Rome .

Anyone can read and check the the DATES and then decide for them selves .

#1 , I will have to start and say that there is NOT ANY scripture , showing Peter is in Rome !!

#2 , John 21:18-19 prove to me that Peter never left Jersualem .

#3 , Paul states in Gal THAT THREE YEARS AFTER HIS CONVERSION , Paul went to Jerusalem to see Peter and Peter is in Jerusalem in AD 40 , so NO PROBLEM , SO FAR !!

#4 , Peter , than in Acts 9-11 , PETER makes a missionary journey to Lydia , Joppa and Caesarea , WHICH ARE LOCATED IN WESTERN JUDEA .

This is LATE AD 45 and Peter is still in Jerusalem !!

NOW WE HAVE A 3 YEAR DISCREPANCY with RCC TRADITION . for Peter is SUPPOSSED to have already been in Rome for 3 YEARS .

#5 , Then in Gal 1:8 , this is AD 48 !!

#6 , Then in Gal 2:1 , AFTER 14 YEARS , Paul goes again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and this brings us UP TO 62 AD .

Remember , that the RCC CLAIMS by Church Tradition , that Peter was already in ROME , serving as POPE at this TIME and had been there for 20 YEARS !!

With sophisticated in-depth textual criticism skills like this, you would make a good atheist.

There's a thread running currently on the same topic:

Peter never went to Rome

Read posts 27-30 in that thread.

Hi , and I am ALWAYS so mis-understood !!

I tried to make it simple as to let all understand how easy it is , when just using the bible to refute extra-bibical writing .

This refuting of RCC Traditional claims have been around for over 30 years and the internet will let all know how to refute the RCC False Claims , dan p

Peters ministry was to the Jews. Pauls ministry was to the Gentiles.

Why would Peter go to Rome? There were no Jews there, just Gentiles.

They do not wish to see conflict with their church. That might force them to ask more questions.

Psalm 1[/color] and Job 28:28

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Joh 4:23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

Hi , Robert , and there are about 8 answers and you just HIT on one good reason that Peter would not go to Rome as Peter's Ministry was to the Circumcision , Gal 2:7 , " as the Gospel of the Circumcision was unto PETER " .

ROME was loaded with Gentiles , so why would PETER GO THERE ??

It was on my list and you hit it on the NAIL HEAD , DAN P

Hi , and I am not offended , but thanks , just the same ,

Maybe the Catholics will say that Peter was here just as a Spirituall POPE and then appointed his successor in a Vision !!

I believe this is the best OP that Debunks the RCC FRAUD claim , and so easy to prove !!

The hardest part about sharing truth is hurting folks. I know that I was hurt and felt deceived when I relized that there is no Santa. But I got over it.

Some folks are sensitive. Personally, I do not wish to hurt people by expressing my thoughts for some are thin skinned. They take is as a attack on their faith. I suppose in a way it is, but its not a personal attack.
