I might be the skunk at the picnic but I’m going to say it. I’m going to say it clear. Romney’s losing. I don’t like to start a Friday show with this, but I feel like I must....
If the election were held today, Mitt Romney would lose...

At this point neither of the two candidates have what it takes to run the country.
I have no idea where Obama's lack of leadership is taking us.
Romney wouldn't do any better.
We get to listen to the liberal media and many of Hollywood's elite pontificate on how wonderful this mysterious entity is, what a gift to our country he is. I know I have entered the twilight zone because I don't see it and I don't get it!

Last time around, I felt we couldn't go that wrong with either candidate. I still think so. This time, it's a mediocre president, vs. a genuinely bad candidate.
We can't afford Romney, and we can get by with Obama.
Very nice! Very wonderful! Life must be good, the statistics say so!
I believe the Obama machines statistics about as much as you believed the Bush machines statistics.
I wonder why it is that wherever I go in Minnesota strip malls are now empty, businesses have closed their doors. There are abandoned homes and homes for sale because people have lost their jobs and can't find work.
The people in Duluth experienced a devastating flood but FEMA turned down a request for aid. I guess the Solyndra executives used up a goodly share of our tax dollars at work?

Solyndra was a Bush/Obama fail
How many fails did Romny have that are Bain related?
I hear that 25% of Bain projects failed.
FoxNews would call the Bain fails the normal risks of capitalism.
But they don't say the same thing about Solyndra - do they?
Well my brain-washed fellow citizen, the liberal media have done their job well, very well.
During the Bush era the unremitting howls of the liberal media that "we cannot trust the government"! has finally sunk in with me. Now we have a liberal administration that the liberal press expects me to trust? They taught me not to trust, and I don't!

Why are you misquoting me, don't misrepresent my statement.
We were not having a conversation about whether or not Romney was leading in the poles or winning or losing any PR war - that was not the context of my quote.
One has to be seriously Pinheaded & newsless to Espouse & affirm OT Nonsensical tommyrot!

Let's see if this analogy helps - a sane man behind the wheel of a car is good but a crazy man behind the wheel of a car is bad. I considered some of Bush's policies crazy.

The Bush admin tried to make it work with Solyndra, it was deemed a bad investment so they stopped funding them. Obama reinvested money in an already bad investment - why?
GM was given billions to save jobs, how many jobs, roughly 90 or so thousand - price tag, a cost in the millions per job. GM is already having problems (once again) competing with Japan - more bad investment.
ObamaCare has already grown in the size of the actual cost by 3x, it's just now beginning to sink in with businesses what this will really cost which is why there is a virtual stand-still in the job market, no one knows the actual effect of ObamaCare, they didn't actually read what the full extent of the law was - Pelosi said so remember "we need to pass it first"...
ObamaCare might very well break the back of the US economy as we know it, it will come back but in what form who knows. We wont see any real job market or growth for a decade or more after one term, give Obama 4 more years he will have us fully reliant on the goverment.

OK, 75% success. You say fail, what if the idea was to either save or scrap the business based on whether or not the business can survive, that's how investment works. If someone was already wanting out so they put up their business for sale - it was already in trouble.
So, Romney helped 75 percent of the people save their jobs, 25 percent had to find other work, what is the problem? Was Romney obligated to provide a job for everyone, no one can find other work - retraining is unheard of...?
So, let's say that of the 25 percent that lost their jobs, 21 percent found new careers, and even a few of them are happier now than in their previous job - we're now at 4 percent, a few might have retired, were at 3 percent, 1 percent were women who married so they didn't need to work, we're at 3 percent.
See, it's easy playing your guessing game.

How come?
Solyndra was already in bad shape, it appears Obama was stubborn and was committed to investing in green energy, he rolled the dice and cost us money, why did he bet on the horse with 3 legs, couldn't he see the horse was lame...?
There's risk then there's bad investment, no one's faulting Obama (at least not me) for failing at times, this is normal, but he seemed to have invested for other reasons, it looks like a payback for support, this is not good business.
You keep harping on Romney and Bain, you've admitted he cost thousands of people their jobs, my advice to you...
Start a petition, let's see the number of jobs saved versus jobs lost and put this to rest - I want to hear from the actual employees. I figure if Romney has harmed all these poor folks as you and your friend Barby have been saying - there would be thousands of people clamoring for his neck - I've seen maybe 5 or so people - wow, the numbers are staggering.
If all you have is 1 guy who essentially lied about his situation (he was offered a buy out, she had coverage, and died 5 or more years later) and was willing to score politically with his wife's death, this says volumes about what really happened, and your friends on the left.

The argument is already being weighed by the voters. And excuses aren't going to be enough. The last piece might be how Romney was doing while he was shipping all those jobs overseas.
Mitt Romney’s financial company, Bain Capital, invested in a series of firms that specialized in relocating jobs done by American workers to new facilities in low-wage countries like China and India.
During the nearly 15 years that Romney was actively involved in running Bain, a private equity firm that he founded, it owned companies that were pioneers in the practice of shipping work from the United States to overseas call centers and factories making computer components, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission...Bain played several roles in helping these outsourcing companies, such as investing venture capital so they could grow and providing management and strategic business advice as they navigated this rapidly developing field.
Romney in recent months has lamented the toll it’s taken on the U.S. economy. He has repeatedly pledged he would protect American employment by getting tough on China.
“They’ve been able to put American businesses out of business and kill American jobs,” he told workers at a Toledo fence factory in February. “If I’m president of the United States, that’s going to end.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/busine...ptV_story.html
This from the guy who pledged he'd always defend a "woman's right to choose" abortion, whenever he was courting the votes of liberals, and claimed to be pro-life when he was courting the votes of conservatives. http://prolifeprofiles.com/mitt-romney-abortion
He'll say whatever he think you want to hear. He thinks "you people" aren't smart enough to realize it.

So what, and you know this is a non issue, why...
... because we pay lower prices for many goods and services because of this. If this was a business that could produce a good for a relatively similar price they would be here - but they can't.
You know dog gone well that you would still complain about this issue if it was a business manufacturing tee shirts, you would accuse the business of over pricing for their 3-pack of tees for $25 in comparison to the 3-pack from China priced at $9.99.
They don't go overseas because they want to - they have to, the US has their boots on the throats of most businesses.
We benefit from lower prices on thousands of goods and services, this saves us money as a consumer. Again, in your simplistic world you have only one eye opened, in the real world (our US world), it's becoming difficult to survive as a business, this goes back to the 90s under Bill Clinton, businesses were fleeing California (a state your friends on the left have been running for decades) for Arizona and Nevada. These lost jobs were still lost jobs, it didn't matter where they were relocating to, many friends of mine couldn't leave California, it might as well have been China to them.
I'm not a fan of Romney but you're implying this is unique to Romney, if you actually had a real job and were trying to be successful you would encounter the same problematic issues - REGULATION, BUREAUCRACY, RED TAPE.
You should know what I'm talking about Barby, it's very similar to those 14 pages necessary to fire worthless teachers, you know those 60 plus steps that must be followed before a teacher who cusses at his students, or that teacher who disparages a student's religion or political view can be fired - come on Barby, you swim in this nonsense - and you ignore it in your world of the teet-sucking sham that's public education.

(Barbarian notes that Romney has been energetically shipping American jobs overseas)
Quote:
So what, and you know this is a non issue
After weeks of accusations from Obama and his allies that Romney cut U.S. jobs and sent them overseas while he headed Bain, 36 percent of registered voters said the issue had made them see Romney less favorably, compared to 18 percent who said they were now more favorable toward the former governor of Massachusetts. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...86N05B20120724
They've found another weak spot; and that's just beginning.

So tell an American factory worker that he's better off because he can buy what he used to make cheaper, now that it's made in a sweatshop in China. That's what Romney's trying to sell.

I don't think that one is going to help, either.

Nor that one. The most galling thing is, Bain was a leader in this process. You might argue that it's the greatest thing ever. But Americans aren't buying it.

Happened at my school about three years ago. He was gone that day, and his contract was ended a week later. Sounds like you're padding the story a bit.

First time that, would be discussion with the principal and a note in the file. Second time would be contract not renewed.

We don't have tenure where I work. Doesn't seem to be a problem for good teachers. We have a union, but I don't belong to it. That's never been a problem, either, except the union rep isn't very friendly with me.
