Jewish Congregation celebrates violating Torah at Yom Kippur Service

During a worship service Tuesday on the eve of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, Rabbi Michael Siegel of Anshe Emet Synagogue [...]
[...] the service featured a fictional father and son dialogue about Israel, including a piece celebrating Israel's openness to the gay and lesbian community.
Instead of repenting for violating the Torah during Yom Kippur, they celebrated violating the Torah.

That is a conservative synagogue which should clear things up.
I once heard an amusing anecdote about the differences between Orthodox, Reform and Conservative Judaism.
At an Orthodox wedding the mother of the bride is pregnant. At a Reform wedding the bride is pregnant. At a Conservative wedding the Rabbi is pregnant.

The answer to your question is there if you are willing to look at it. If you don't want to put in that effort than you really aren't that interested. I'm not going to sit here and sum up years of debate for you. Also, I haven't any idea what story was actually read during their services so how I can I really give you an answer? Gays and lesbians are welcome in the Conservative community. There isn't anything wrong with their being welcome. Aside from that...I have no idea what the story could have been about since the article doesn't say. Suffice it to say the Conservative movement doesn't treat homosexual couples like they are a ham and cheese sandwich.

I am one of those people. But when it comes to homosexuality there are different ways to look at the situation.
Different ways...?
The religious community in general ought welcome Gays and everyone else. This is different than stating an approval for behavior that is Gay, isn't it?
