Paul did not baptize once he realized this... we have no records of him baptizing anyone in scripture after this point.

It's not something he suddenly realized it's something he knew. He knew that baptism was not his call to make, but the choice of those who believed. Paul's job was to teach and that was the point he was making. He was indicating that he was not the reason they were baptized, Christ was and that he's glad he personally didn't baptize more people if that was going to be the reaction. This verse is not about baptism so don't make it about something it's not. There's plenty of things we don't have records of in scripture that I'm not going to deny happened. This is just an excuse for people who don't want to accept the need for baptism because it means there's a lot of people out there not saved and that's not scriptural that's just cowardice.

I know tons of people that were 'water baptized' either as children or young adults that have nothing to do with Christianity anymore.
I also know some people that were baptized and still claim to be Christians and are some of the move vile people I know.
Jesus baptized me with fire and the holy spirit, I know that for sure... and I have a peace about it you probably would not understand.
But if you think obedience and acts by human hands are somehow going to get you to heaven... I would like you to stand in line behind all the Jews over there, because they have been trying the same thing a lot longer than you have.

What other people have done that have been baptized is neither mine nor Jesus' fault. You are not sure that you were baptized by fire and you and I both know that. I'm not trying to do good enough works to be saved, I just know that Christ didn't call me to sit on my butt and do nothing if I claimed to be his. If I want to be His I have to not be a part of this world I have to be a part of him and that requires change and change requires actions. I know for a fact Christ requires baptism, he commanded it, and I, unlike you, don't have the audacity to tell him he was wrong. People want to make Christianity way too easy at the cost of other people's salvation, which is worse than denying Christ themselves.
Do like all the rest of the false churches, or false bodies of christ, and throw in anything and everything that fits your own false doctrine to satisfy your mind!! Just do it; who cares??
Paul -- 071812
I wasn't presenting a doctrine, what I threw in was a passage of scripture. If you have a problem with what Paul wrote, take it up with God, and please leave me out of it.
Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God, who from His altar call;
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all!
Let every tribe and every tongue before Him prostrate fall;
The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all!
"Apart from me you can do nothing."~Jesus
Phil. 3:8 (ESV)
What does one ( do ) if he is "Baptized" in water, as the ( "Eunuch" ) was??? -- Was he (( Baptized )) in your doctrine of Words, or in something that you ( now ) say, that there's some other baptism that one can go through that doesn't exist?? - (( But you will )), whatever it takes for you guys who are simply against ( Acts 2:38 KJV ) -

You're reading my post out of context, that response was about Romans 6:4, not speaking of water baptism. Do you just randomly attack people's posts or is there a method to your selections? Do you even know what I was referring to? I'm starting to understand your true motives by your forum name.

Jordan does your conclusion of Romans 6:4 still stand?

I've not been sure which baptism Jesus was referring to in Matthew 28 until reading your posts.
Then I remembered that Jesus certainly does NOT baptize everyone with the Holy Spirit.
He is quite selective in this. I believe it is a special anointing.
I myself had to wait about 3 years after first asking (repeatedly) for it.
Discouraged, I said to my wife, "I probably won't get it until I'm 93!"
Can you guess when I got it?
BTW, Jordan, is he a good one? Happy you hired him?
God's precious Scriptures are of NO value to those who cannot (or will not) believe them! "For as many as are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Romans 8:14 It always was God's intention that His NT church be the ONLY model for all future churches!
