No, though any system made by and administered by men will invariably find corruption within it. The system is a good one. It works most of the time. And when it fails it has mechanisms to address those failures.

No. It has a remarkably high conviction rate and a history of overturning unjust verdicts to boot. It's far from perfect, as are men.

That really doesn't even rate an answer, but I'll give it more than it merits. The goal of the system is justice. It isn't evil any more than a gun fashioned to protect but occasionally used to harm the innocent is evil.

Now if you want to try and support those descriptions with argument, I'll be back later to address any one of them.

I think there's a distortion problem that surfaces too frequently in a number of posters relating to the "open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed" approach.

The root is right. A Christian can't soft sell the moral foundation of God, shouldn't make anyone comfortable with sin on the point, but that notion is too often confused with a license to act in a way that doesn't reflect Christ's own approach more often than not. He was criticized for spending much of his time ministering to the sinner. And most of what he had to say was loving, as was the final act of his life in the flesh.

What happens is a couple of instances of him strongly rebuking religious leaders who were knowing hypocrites and a slap at Peter for trusting his own notions above God's design becomes the go to move for approaching anyone they disagree with or they meet who is outside of the faith. That's not following Christ's example, it's a distortion of it. It doesn't serve the cross, it serves our vanity. That's the danger of pronouncing judgment. It's intoxicating. Sacrifice, that's surer focus and you can't mistake love when it seeks to do for you instead of to you.

What if God chooses men of a certain ability and moves them to the education? At any rate, the fellow/lady asked for theologians. Now I did say there were any number of laymen worth speaking to around here, but he didn't ask for their names. And unless you find intellect an impairment then all things being equal and absent a reason (supra) to suspect something unfortunate I'll take the surgeon with a diploma. Because I know he's been held to a standard outside of his own noggin and demonstrated a grasp of the subject matter.

Maybe He would. At any rate, I was trying to be helpful...and I didn't slight the layman, among whom I number.
