Mine is Willie Mays.
George Brett, a Royal, is probably 2nd.
Sandy Koufax, 3rd.
Maybe Ty Cobb for 4th.
Some of my favorites are Honus Wagner, Eric Davis , Will Clark, Willie Mays, Greg Maddux, and many others. Honus Wagner is a forgotten great from the Dead Ball Era.

This is difficult for me to say. I don't have one single favorite.
I am a big GHR fan, without question. He will probably always be my favorite, despite his faults and the controversy that surrounds just how great he really was.
I really admire Lou Gehrig. He wasn't perfect by any means, but he was a great example of good sportsmanship.
Jackie Robinson, Cy Young, Sandy Koufax...it's hard to pick.
Ted Williams.

I really like reading about the early game. The team names were great.
One noteworthy minor league team was the Walla Walla Walla Wallas back in 1891.

One of the truly forgotten greats is Oscar Charleston. According to Buck O'Neil, Charleston was the greatest ballplayer he ever saw, even greater than Willie Mays. O'Neil was a career "baseball man", played in the Negro Leagues was a teammate of Satchel Paige, and went on to be a major league scout and major league coach. He was involved in baseball for over 70 years. To the end of his life O'Neil (who died in 2006) swore that Charleston would have been even greater than Willie Mays if Charleston had played in the majors. Charleston was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.

This guy was an AMAZING hitter. Check this out. Over six seasons (1920-25) he averaged: .397/.467/.666!!
Over five seasons (1921-25) he averaged: .402/.474/.690. Let me say it gain. Over five seasons Rogers Hornsby had a .402 batting average!
