Defend your nutcase hero Ralphie.

(And people think that Fox News is conservative).
Actually the OP was about how Marilyn Monroe helped out a black woman to be able to sing in a club where backwards attitudes prevented her being able to do so just because of the colour of her skin. How typically empathic of you to refer to her as a 'drugged up slut' as if you're so bloody infallible yourself.

You're a total prat Connie, a nasty, slimy, sleazy, squirmy, hypocritical piece of work.

Well this is fun isn't it?

Maybe the Club Owner simply didn't like Fitzgerald's music. I can certainly understand why.

Monroe was a sex symbol who drew attention from the media and fans and it was precisely for that reason that the club owner saw an opportunity for himself when she agreed to frequent his establishment nightly.

He would have just as easily put a trained chimp on stage for the same reason.

Most likely it had everything to do with the color of her skin...and though you may not appreciate the monumental talent of Ms. Fitzgerald the title "First Lady of Song" still stands.

Oh, I'm sure there will be ... Thanks for the trivia, had not Marilyn Monroe made that jesture some time later the club owner would have been begging for Ella to grace his club.
