The article makes some interesting points, but it would not be the same for every woman who's been the victim, some will be better equipped to cope with the traumatic after effects of rape and the process of pregnancy than others, I still feel that the woman should have a choice in this situation
A woman who has been raped is rarely in the mental shape to make such a decision. Not only is she dealing with feelings of guilt and low self-worth because of the rape, but you want her to have to deal with having to decide whether she should carry the product of that act to term?

There are many people who would be willing to raise that child if the woman wasn't willing to do so (I'm one of them). So, she would have the "inconvenience" of carrying that baby to term. That inconvenience is nothing compared to living with the guilt of killing the baby. And, before you ask, yes. I know (and have stood by) women who made that decision. Albeit, it's only been two women. But, one committed suicide later because she couldn't deal with the fact that she had an abortion. The other turned to drugs and alcohol as the feelings of guilt got worse every year, on the anniversary of her abortion.

It is black and white.

Every medical procedure known to man should be used to save both lives throughout the entire pregnancy, and there is never a time that you kill the child to protect the mother.

However, at this time, we live in an unjust justice system who protects murderers and instead murders the innocent.
I guess things are black and white for you then..............you advocate murder under the guise of execution..............I'll ask you this, if the life of the mother is at risk from pregnancy should she be allowed to terminate? Or should she be forced to go through with it and if she doesnt 'executed' as a result...............

Apparently, you are not mature enough to know the difference between murder and punishment. You have the same mindset of an abortionist.

You obviously do not have the mind of Christ, which makes you an unbeliever and in need of salvation.

If you'll look back at my second post in this thread, you'll see that "rape/incest and health of the mother or child only account for less than 10% of abortions in the US." You're asking for abortion to be allowed for cases that rarely happen.

I appreciate your arguments, and you make a lot of sense, its not an easy isue at all and when I say its not black and white I hear the arguments for the woman having the child just as much as the mother having a choice in the situation, my point is that each case is different and I certainly wouldnt advocate the mother being given the choice immediately after conception but after counselling and professional assessment of her physical and mental well being.............

Please lets dispense with the 'ad hominems'..............if you wish to debate then by all means but keep to the topic...........you really arent in a position to judge either my salvation or my mindset.........
Your idea of punishment would actually constitute murder given the present laws, much as I'd want to see the judicial system overhauled I'm thankful at least that extremism of the kind you advocate would not be tolerated......

Don't act like you know me, you jerk. How's that sound?

Believe it or not you people do not have a monopoly on opposition to abortion. Get a clue.

How much does one have to know about someone who openly shakes their fist at God? I probably should have not posted my comment toward you in this thread, but I do not repent for the comment. I apologize to red77 for making an unnecessary post in this thread and will not do that again in this thread.
