Aliens, Samurais, and Scientology

SUMMARY:
* Aliens with Samurais in Hollywood: A security guard at the Church of Scientology in Hollywood on Sunday shot and
killed a samurai sword-wielding maniac. Science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard said in an interview that inventing a religion would be a great way to make money, and make money he DID!
He wrote Dianetics and his secretive religion promotes a cockamamie idea that aliens from a galaxy far, far away escaped their destabilizing planet, sort of like superman did from Krypton, and they came to earth, and now
cause havoc in people's heads, but you can get various levels of treatment, "audits" actually, and be cleared, for a price, and a hefty price, increasingly expensive based on your net worth.
* Guns N' Roses Foreign Policy: with the group's new album criticizing the Communist Chinese government, and the
Chinese government's angry reaction, we've reach a point in history wherein Guns N' Roses has
more responsible foreign policy initiative than does the U.S. Government; than does the White House; than does the Republican Party, and even than does Colorado's
Bob Schaffer, who
whitewashed the atrocity of Chinese forced abortion committed on U.S. soil in the Marianas Islands. So, Gun's N' Roses are more responsible, morally, than Republican heroes! That's where're we're at.
* Suicide, Internet, and William Provine: Bob applies observations from Albert Einstein to some of the news and views of the day. The laws of the physical sciences do not use the moral concepts of right and wrong. The laws of logic and reason are not physical (no mass, polarity, etc.) so there is a non-physical reality.
Atheist Cliché 1: There is no truth! Rebuttal: Is that true?
Atheist Cliché 2: There are no absolutes! Rebuttal: Absolutely?
Atheist Cliché 3: Only your five senses provide real knowledge. Rebuttal: Says which of the five?
In 1936 Einstein
famously wrote, "the most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible," and in 1944,
remarking about atheist Bertrand Russell, Einstein
described the ability to get from matter to ideas as a "gulf-logically unbridgeable," which some scientists and linguists refer to as Einstein's Gulf. In 1950, Einstein
wrote that "science can only ascertain what is, but not what should be," necessarily excluding from its domain "value judgments of all kinds." Thus science cannot even prove that slavery is wrong.
Christians take such observations about ideas, ethics, and the laws of science and logic as consistent with our belief that any ultimate moral authority (right vs. wrong) cannot possibly be physical but would be non-physical (i.e., spiritual and personal).
So where do Human Rights Come From? Not from the majority (Americans over slaves; Germans over Jews); not from the hospital or delivery doctor. Rights come from our Creator, not at birth, but at the moment we are created. As the Hebrew prophet Isaiah wrote, "For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth... who formed it to be inhabited: 'I am the LORD, and there is no other.'" In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And in opposition to much of the ancient world which worshipped the Sun and heavenly bodies, Genesis chapter one says that God set the sun in the sky "to give light on the earth." And God made man in His likeness which is why children are infinitely more valuable than animals. Although, hear the editor from Scientific American, Michael Shermer, in this
famous 73-second excerpt of
Shermer's appearance on BEL, deny that the sun is a light. Yes, it's tough debating atheists when they're afraid to admit to even the most simple and obvious common ground.
